POSTS STORIES REELS

After hundreds of reps and hundreds of training sessions. To wanting to pack it in so many times. To getting in so much pain from the sport physically and mentally to the point where every day movement and training just doesn’t need to be as uncomfortable as I make it. I have finally achieved my goal by being able to put an 80 kg snatch above my head whether that is competition legal or not. To them going on and achieving more with my clean and jerk at 102 kg is something I never thought I was able to do. Not only that I’ve put myself at massive disadvantage with the lack of sport that I’ve done prior to weightlifting. The massive increases and decreases in my body weight which put myself at another disadvantage. To then making decisions to move between coaches and not realising the effect it would have on my progress. Tonbe considered bang average at this sport I am so fucking incredibly proud of myself that I have done it. And have grown drastically as a person throughout this process. This has always meant to be absolute most to me and I appreciate social media shows vast extremities and glorifies only the one percent of achievers. But I can wholeheartedly say that most people would have packed it in knowing that they weren’t naturally good at something. I also appreciate that a lot of these issues here above I have created for myself but to be able to lose around about a fifth of my body weight and make progress will probably be one of the greatest things I’ll ever achieve. Time to polish off the rest of the weight cut, start and finish university. Do everything I can do a positively affect my new job and the people around me I do everything I can to achieve 100 kg snatch and 120 clean and jerk. I am so excited for the future. You have no idea x

Cardiff Met Weightlifting wants to congratulate @garinbeams_ for the Head coach position at the club! 😍🏹🏋️

Just a little bit Garin! 😍

Garin is currently U20,23 & Senior Welsh and British champion of 65kg men’s class (bit of a big deal) and has trained and worked alongside me for the past year with my lifting. He has been able to achieve in his career a 108kg Snatch and a 135kg Clean and jerk at roughly 66kg bodyweight which is just insane. And has become a prominent member of the Welsh Weightlifting squad ranking at no 6 in Wales altogether. We can’t wait for you to get started with us!

Quite a late post but what a comp!

Atmosphere was crazy, probably why the screaming was taken up a notch 💀

With such a strong block going into the comp, not the result that I wanted. Hitting a 146kg total, and having to lift as a guest due to weighing in overweight. 160kg total was on the cards but unfortunately not on the day. Still chipping away at a better performance, total and mindset.

63kg ❌ 63kg ✅ 66kg ❌

76kg ✅ 80kg ✅ 83kg ✅

Wanted to thank everyone who came to support me!

Welsh Winter Open Highlights 🏋️‍♀️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Had a long and tricky journey leading up to this comp, after dealing with injuries in both knees and shoulders prep has been a challenge to the lead up. But I came Second!🥈Next to @simondonnellycoaching who smashed it. But from going to not even being able to pull the bar off the floor/not being able to squat. But having that turn into progress with my Snatch and a Clean PB, also hitting my goal of doing 2 comps this year has been a absolute treat and a worth whole trip to Bangor. Unfortunately numbers no where near I want them to be due to these injuries and my short time with the sport.

However I’m extremely proud of myself and the other people around me that have helped me get to this point, and I’m extremely grateful for each and everyone of them.

Here’s to another year of PB’s and Competition 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️

Bring the noise as always 💥
