“The great 8” minus two from the class of 2002 got together for dinner and to go watch Norman High play Norman North tonight. We may have missed the game since it was played ahead of schedule lol but it was still fun to see everyone and check out the new facilities! Thank you @erinmikel for putting it together. This weekend is officially the end of an era. The doors are temporarily closing… it’s bitter sweet. While it closes one chapter of Wild Hair that lasted the past 25 ish years… it’s going to have a new chapter beginning with some old, some new faces and a completely new look for the next 25 years. The OGS have dwindled down to 5, 3 have passed away, and 3 are no longer doing hair and we added several more that stuck by our OG’s side for the past 10, 7, 5 etc. years. Don’t worry another pic will come with the rest of us… we just all 5 happened to be in the building today lol. This salon, these people, mean more to me than I could ever express. These 4 took me in on October 2, 2010 as the 27 year old fresh out hair school, accepted me, grew with me and did a whole lot of life with me over the past 14 years. In April of 2011 when I was offered to buy the salon these girls stuck with me and never left… through good times, hard times, and everything in between… and then when I made the tough but correct decision for me and my family to sell starting in 2023 they still stayed and supported me and these friendships I could never replace. Now a time has come that our 1940 building that was turned into a salon 25 years ago needs some TLC… way more TLC than I could have ever given it. There have been some stressful times over the past month but we have got through it and we all have a new temporary home… and permanent for some. We’re thankful for Yukon and all our clients who made the past couple decades amazing. Don’t worry… I’ll be sharing updates as the remodel gets underway 🩷
