Some wedding visions come with a Pinterest board.

Others are just:

“I want the room completely FULL of our favourite people.”

And honestly? I get it.

There’s something pretty special about a reception that feels alive, the packed dance floor, tables full of conversation, people you love everywhere you look.

Sometimes the best wedding design is simply having everyone you love in one room.

back home after a really inspiring couple of weeks in Korea and heading straight into the excitement of wedding season.

travel always reminds me how much beauty there is in thoughtful details, atmosphere, experience, texture, colour, pacing - all the things that quietly shape how an event feels. I came home with a very full camera roll (iPhone and film!!) and even fuller creative brain.

now diving into a season of beautiful celebrations, design meetings, timelines, and long production days, and honestly feeling very excited for what’s ahead.

2026 is in full swing, and I’ve also started conversations with 2027 couples already, which still feels a little surreal in the best way. can’t believe I get to do this for a living!

excited for the season ahead 🤍

“I’ve been forty years discovering that the queen of all colours is black.” — Henri Matisse
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The longer we photograph, the more we understand this. Some images were just made to exist in black and white. Sometimes colour tells the story, and sometimes its absence says even more. Black and white imagery has a way of quieting the noise - drawing you closer to the feeling, the glance, the light. A kind of timelessness that feels both present and nostalgic all at once.

one of my favourite things is working with other planners on fun stationery projects. I love little details and @frenchkissevents always has such an incredible vision to work off of.

a special set of day-of stationery for peter & cole, including a tote bag design (not pictured), deep earthy colours, lots of patterns and fun coasters.

books are open for invitation suites & day-of stationery items for this season. send me an email at hello@nicolajane.ca and let’s chat!

if there was a wedding week to call in a weather favour, it was this one. atmospheric river, right smack in the middle of august, with marissa & jeremy’s al fresco evening all planned & set for the next day. luckily (after watching the radar obsessively), it cleared and we ended up with an absolutely gorgeous day at @brockhouseevents 🤍
