what we do when in silence è un progetto mio, di Alessandra Novaga ed Enrico Malatesta.

Vi aspettiamo! by @nicolarattee

Today marks the end of a residency period dedicated to a new work (audio, video, performance...don't know yet), named "la nuova lingua" which draws its inspiration from the island of Stromboli and its geography.
Thanks to Giulia and the Marosi Festival for nurturing this project at its inception, ciao! by @nicolarattee

Vispero is a sound installation that stages ambiguous communication, consisting of whistles and resonances, through the use of speaker/microphone technology linked together within a specific space that acts as a resonating architecture and a constituent element of the work itself.
The whistles travel through the space, modulated by timbral effects and the acoustic resonances of the rooms themselves.

Communication loses meaning when the meaning of words fades, but in this case, it takes on importance by adding value derived from the space and unexpected occurrences.

Vispero was exhibited for the first time at the PAC museum in Milan on October 4 and 5, 2025, as part of the exhibition Listening in Disturbed Ecologies with Giulia Deval and Elena Biserna curated by Claudia Alonzo and produced by Fondazione Lazzaretto. Photos by Enrico Zanetti.
