don’t take my lack of posting for lack of pride of these really great books I was/am lucky enough to publish !!!
LET THE POETS GOVERN and NIGHT NIGHT FAWN burst open language in v v different ways but both squeeze you and demand you listen closely. CLAM DOWN is a Pulitzer finalist !! a wild weird transformation deserving of every single pearl. the paperback of O SINNERS—just read it! It’s so damn good. & up next for your summer reads (you’re welcome) THE FERVENT WHITES (a true page turner), ALL THIS WANT (AND I CAN’T GET NONE) (subversive satisfying stories), and DAUGHTER OF THE MOUNTAINS (a poetic return; heart making work). read books !!!! by @nicolecounts

A mighty short stack of 2025: A novel of seduction and distortion (O SINNERS!); a memoir of burrowing and transforming (CLAM DOWN); and a novel of pursuing dreams (MY TRAIN LEAVES AT THREE).
📚
Bonus: a paperback of a memoir of joy and imagination (DID EVERYONE HAVE AN IMAGINARY FRIEND (OR JUST ME?)).
📚
Along with five mind-bending bangers for 2026 (three covers included here): a reckoning and blueprint (LET THE POETS GOVERN by Camonghne Felix); a
rollicking indictment/fakakta novel (NIGHT NIGHT FAWN by Jordy Rosenberg); a heart-pounding thriller (THE FERVENT WHITES by De’Shawn Charles Winslow); a homecoming and passage (DAUGHTER OF THE MOUNTAINS by Fatimah Asghar); and true and tender stories (ALL THIS WANT (AND I CAN’T GET NONE) by T Clark) by @nicolecounts

took our girl to amsterdam, london, and edinburgh; paying for it now in jet lag 🙃. a season like no other, hibernation and exposure all in one. The last slide is Ein Aouja by @adam.rouhana “the innate joy of being with water is the greatest form of resistance.” holding on tightly. by @nicolecounts

Happy Clam Down day! Please enjoy these shell images I’ve collected in preparation for today. A brilliant adventure, a wondrous excavation, a family accounting, and a companion for self-discovery. The subtitle is true, this is a metamorphosis for both the author and reader. 🐚🩻💽🌊☁️🦋 by @nicolecounts
