It’s October 1st which means it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month! When I was younger, I always found myself signing up for breast cancer walks, buying all the pink things and donating to various charities. I never imagined it’d become part of my story and my journey. 💗

I’ve also grown so much in learning about “pink washing” that happens, especially this time of the year, the charities who contribute little or nothing towards research and support and what it means to just be a voice if nothing else.

Every breast cancer story is unique and no two cases are the same, every treatment path varies from one person to another. This is why advocating for yourself, constant research, improvements in treatment and having a team of doctors you can trust is huge!

Grateful and blessed to be cancer free, but I won’t quit sharing my story because unfortunately there are so many others out there who one day may have to face their own journey. I was so thankful to have someone I could turn to when I was first diagnosed, while it didn’t change the diagnosis, treatment plan or journey, it provided comfort in having someone to talk to, who had walked a similar journey. 🫶🏼

Ohhh and friendly reminder, always check yourself, “feel it on the first” and get to your doctor if anything feels abnormal. 💗 by @nicoletrytten

8 nights away on Allure of the Seas. 10/10 recommend, stops in Curaçao, Aruba (absolute must!), DR and Coco Cay! We spent our time in a boardwalk balcony room which was small, but also fun to see the Aqua show on the regular! Memories were made, laughs were had and new experiences topped the charts for our family adventures! 💗💗💗 taken in Royal Carribean's Allure of the Seas by @nicoletrytten

To the boy who made me a mom, the one who is my forever best friend.. I can’t believe it’s been a decade of loving on you. You are double digits now and it feels so unreal. Looking back at these memories from each birthday.. I am amazed at all the things you’ve accomplished and overcome, the challenges you’ve faced and kept pushing on, and the goals you continue to crush! I know it’s been trying at times, but you are incredibly unique, insanely gifted and have the purest heart and soul. We couldn’t be more proud of who you are and who you will become as you continue to grow. We love you so much dude man! Happy 10th birthday little bear! 💙💙💙 by @nicoletrytten
