We got out of the house this morning to support a local catering business and had a lovely time chatting to people in the socially distanced queue. I wonder if we’ll miss some of the things we’re doing now during lockdown as they help bring our local community together.

Last week I had the opportunity to host a Zoom chat with the brilliant @holly_seear for @weareacewomen Holly shared how we can successfully set and achieve goals in the current time without races and sportives to focus on. Holly gave us loads of ideas and I love her suggestion of setting A, B & C goals. If the A goal race or sportive gets cancelled there’s still a list of things to work on and achieve. One of my B goals is working on body strength. We set a monthly plank challenge as a group, and we’ve been cheering each other on to get it done. It’s helped bring our community together again without group rides and with daily check-ins. I've been a dedicated cyclist for more than ten years, but I'm honestly not feeling my passion for it right now. I've been running, and in just a few weeks, I've managed to get myself up to 5km. Running fits around my new job more easily with the long shifts, and it takes up less time on my days off. I haven't got any big ambitions to conquer long-distance as I did on my bike, just a 30-minute plod in my afternoon break is keeping me ticking over #couchto5k #beginnerrunner by @nicoletur
