Vorfreude auf ACH, MOM! In der schrecklich netten Familie aus der Feder von Nico Sauer ist nichts, wie es scheint. In einem Wohnzimmer wie ein Illusionskabinett zaubern euch Regisseur Nico Sauer und Maria Magdalena Emmerig (Bühne und Kostüme) ab Freitag eine Sitcom, die sich selbst zum Explodieren bringt, um aus ihren Trümmern ein neues Modell performativer Erzählung zu bauen.

ACH, MOM! ist das Ergebnis unseres Open Calls: Zum ersten Mal in der Geschichte des DT wurde eine Inszenierung ausgeschrieben, deren Fokus auf nachhaltiger Theaterarbeit lag. Das Projekt von Nico Sauer und Maria Magdalena Emmerig basiert auf ressourcenschonendem Materialeinsatz und der Herausforderung, Materialität und Erzählweise nachhaltig zusammenzudenken. Das Ergebnis sprüht nur so vor Erfinder:innengeist und Kreativität.

Was ist da los im @theatermuenster ?

👨‍🦽 Rollator-Rowdies im Foyer? 🦇 Fledermausschwärme hinter den Kulissen? 🌊 Eine Flutwelle im Bühenraum?
 Oder einfach: Oper, wie man sie noch nicht gesehen hat.
Hier kommen die ersten Ausschnitte aus dem Trailer zu DIE KANTINE. Ein Musiktheater, das hinter die Kulissen der Oper führt und sichtbar macht, was sonst verborgen bleibt: Schweiß, Blut, Lärm und Tränen. Menschen und Material unter Beanspruchung. Unsichtbare Prozesse werden zur Inszenierung, die Mechanik des Betriebs entfaltet ihre eigene Poesie – und ihre Absurdität.
Das Publikum bewegt sich durch die Schichten des Hauses: vorbei an Werkstätten, Probensälen, Verwaltungsfluren und Garderoben. Jeder Raum zeigt ein anderes Gesicht der Oper – Präzision und Chaos, Konzentration und Leerlauf, Hierarchie und Gemeinschaft. Am Ende wartet ein fantastisches Festmahl: Die Kantine als utopischer Ort der Gleichheit. Ein gemeinsamer Tisch. Raum wird Zeit. Feierabend.

10 performers, 5 vehicles, 75 shows, 9 days. It was a wild ride.

RUBER is a traffic opera that took place in the streets of Munich-Haidhausen from June 1 to 10. The audience, only 3 people at a time, is seated in the back of a limousine that drives along a defined route. Performers in the streets, on scooters, in vans, on bikes, will get in and out of the car. Their sounds are transmitted wireless into the car. The limousine is turnded into a moving theatre hall in which an absurd opera of wigs, guns and molten cheese unravels.

There are countless hours of video footage and recordings that I still haven’t managed to put together to a proper documentation. It will follow soon. I hope to be able to protract the many requests coming in for PROOF of this madness to have happened. I still wake up haunted from action ladden dreams of this piece. Then I’m not sure if it wasn’t all just but a dream. So here’s some proof, a brief report from Bavarian television, from just bevore the premiere.

Diesen Samstag, 8. August, erwartet euch gleich zweimal Programm im TROPEZ! 🩵

Nach der letzten Ausgabe von conversation pieces um 15 Uhr folgt um 16 Uhr die Performance Six Studies on Being at the Pool / Sechs Versuche im Schwimmbad zu sein (2026) von Nico Sauer – als Teil der Performancereihe MommyShark, kuratiert von Maria Buzhor.

Nach Jahren auf der Bühne und in unterschiedlichen Rollen versucht Performance-Künstler Nico Sauer etwas scheinbar Einfaches: Er geht ins Schwimmbad, um einfach nur er selbst zu sein. 🏊🤿🩳
In sechs Versuchen stellt er sich der Frage, was es eigentlich bedeutet, „man selbst“ zu sein – an einem Ort, an dem wir ständig von anderen gesehen und beobachtet werden. Jeder Versuch scheitert auf seine eigene Weise: mal komisch, mal unangenehm, mal überraschend. So entsteht eine Performance über Identität, Selbstinszenierung und den Wunsch, einfach nur da zu sein.

Following the final edition of conversation pieces at 3 pm, we continue at 4 pm with Six Studies on Being at the Pool / Sechs Versuche im Schwimmbad zu sein (2026) by Nico Sauer, presented as part of the performance series MommyShark, curated by Maria Buzhor.

After years of performing and inhabiting different roles, performance artist Nico Sauer attempts something seemingly simple: he goes to the swimming pool to just be himself. 🏊🤿🩳
Across six attempts, he explores what it actually means to be „yourself“ in a place where you are constantly seen and observed by others. Each attempt fails in its own way—sometimes funny, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes unexpected. The result is a performance about identity, self-presentation, and the desire to simply exist without performing.

Triangulation, a performance for Brad, Janet, and a virtually generated Triangle Person who crave geometric stability but flirt with nihilistic dimensions. A kind of new game in a series of game performances about performing the nightmare (and triangles).

Thanks so much to @melosyndrom for organising, inviting, and pouring BODY and SOUL hehe into this and letting us all clown around in their exhibition (which you better have seen and if not really too bad for you). And to @raumfuerdrastischemassnahmen and @projectspacefestival .

Mom ist weg!

Abgehauen, oder bloß kurz verschwunden? War sie überhaupt jemals da? Und wer sagt, dass das wichtig wäre? Die Mutter ist fort, die Ordnung zerbricht – die Restfamilie ist außer Rand und Band und feiert heute Uraufführung in der Box. #toitoitoi

Ein grotesker Plot im Gewand einer Seifenoper, mit den Mitteln einer Sitcom: mit ACH, MOM! schafft der Komponist, Multimediakünstler und Regisseur Nico Sauer keine Erzählung über das Konzept der Familie – sondern eine Partitur über ihre Zeichen. Ein Delirium aus Rhythmen, Blicken, Routinen und Brüchen. Eine Sitcom, die sich selbst zum Explodieren bringt, um aus ihren Trümmern ein neues Modell performativer Erzählung zu bauen.
