Woven into the magic is Irish epic lore, the esoteric atmosphere of the druids, and raw violence.
But when that violence is delivered by a director like @michael_sarnoski and an actor like @thehughjackman , it becomes spectacular in the best possible way.
Losing the raw cruelty.
It is a truly tremendous piece of work, congratulations.
Of course we can’t forget to mention the extraordinary cinematographer @patscola and the superb composer @jimghedimusic taken in Highlands by @nicotoffoli

This is my third time in Syracuse, specifically in Ortigia, and every time I discover incredible details and nuances. Beyond being the beating heart of Greek culture and a major crossroads in the Mediterranean for Carthaginians, Romans, and the Norman period up to Frederick II, this land is truly special.
It is special because it was home to Archimedes, one of the greatest geniuses to ever walk the earth, and the birthplace of Saint Lucia, a figure who has influenced customs and way of life not only in Italy, but in many Northern European countries, where her traditions—tied even to the equinox and the winter solstice—still live on today, albeit reinterpreted. A true place of the soul. ✨🏛️📜 taken in Lungomare Alfeo by @nicotoffoli

.
.
.
The EC26 2026 award is not just an acknowledgment, but the result of hard work, deep market research, and an unwavering passion for cinema.
Behind Said Black Blow lies a constant drive to push boundaries, avoid the cliché, and look beyond the horizon. 🎬✨
We are deeply honored by this recognition.
We want to share this achievement with our friends, collaborators, and our audience, because we believe the Italian film industry is ready for a change.
The industry needs new life: relying on "big names" is no longer enough.
Both the box office and today’s audiences demand innovation and genuine storytelling—projects that truly entertain rather than just fulfilling a brief.
This is our commitment. 🇮🇹🚀

Reasons why Ortigia is famous:

Historic centre of Syracuse:
Ortigia is the oldest part of the city, an island connected to the mainland by two bridges.

UNESCO Heritage:
The entire Syracuse area, including Ortigia, has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its historical and cultural importance.

Baroque architecture:
Ortigia is a jewel of baroque architecture, with buildings such as the Duomo, which incorporates elements of the Greek temple of Athena, and Palazzo Beneventano del Bosco.

Source Aretusa:
This spring of fresh water, located on the waterfront, is an iconic site linked to myths and legends, and is also home to papyrus plants.

Archeological remains:
The island preserves traces of different eras, from the remains of the Temple of Apollo to the testimonies of the Byzantine, Arab and Norman eras.

Unique atmosphere:
Walking through the narrow streets of Ortigia you can breathe a particular atmosphere, between lively markets, characteristic restaurants and panoramic views.
