Whenever there is a meeting, a parting shall follow. But that parting needs not last forever. Whether a parting be forever or merely for a short while... that is up to you. A bottom-up view of a rabbit and his Nico. taken in Richmond, British Columbia by @nicoxjan

Posted with permission from both the student and their guardian.

Harry is an eighth-grader studying at an international school in China. We were preparing for his biology midterm because he told me he needed help learning the anatomy of the heart and tracing how blood travels through the circulatory system, even though I’m technically his English teacher.

Lately, many of my peers have been talking about AI and education, wondering if they’ll eventually be replaced by the cheaper, “more efficient” Grim Reaper visiting every industry.

But it’s moments like this, when a student not only gets it but also has fun doing so, that really make my heart beat when teaching. Perhaps one day, much of what teachers do can be replaced, but can AI truly replicate the essence of education, that joy we feel when learning from each other?

by @nicoxjan
