SUMMER PROGRAM 2025 — TERMEZ UNIVERSITY🇺🇿x UPI

I almost said no when the offer came from Sahabat DIA, because my June was already a full-course meal. But if I’d turned it down, I’d definitely be crying in the corner while scrolling everyone’s updates.

Turns out, it only took two weeks (well, one week for me) to find joy in new friendships, explore Bandung with friends from TUES, and gain cultural insight I’ll carry for a long time.

It started with a simple “Nice to meet you.” Then came the “Can I follow your Instagram?” Then, a tight hug goodbye and “See you again someday”

We might not be best friends for life, but I truly believe what we shared in Bandung will live in us for a long, long time.

A big shoutout to Sahabat DIA, you handled all the chaos like pros and still managed to have fun.

“Membaca adalah ruh dari dunia penciptaan.”

That’s what Bu Leila wrote when I nervously told her I was trying to write a book. I asked her for advice. Just a little motivation. She looked at me and said, “Kamu harus rajin membaca.” And then wrote that beautiful line.

So now I’ll read EVERYTHING.
Pecel lele banners? Read.
ATM signs? Read.
Receipts? Yup.
Books? Of course.

Meeting her was the plot twist I didn’t see coming this year. Wild, considering I almost didn’t show up. And even after I did decide to come, I nearly left Namaku Alam at home (imagine if I missed the chance to talk to her, i’d crying a river, no, Niagara falls even)

So glad that I made it and got to meet one of the writers who made me fall in love with words.

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!
We missed the train, wandered around, spent all our money, and went home completely drained—but we laughed until one in the morning.

This is the month we’re feeling the stress and pushing ourselves to the limit, so we needed this incredible fun before we burn out!

Anyway, lebih seru bagian dimana kita ngitung utang-utang kita.

Anjani was the first to be published.
She was the ninth in this book, and that was quite an achievement.

I never got the chance to describe her more precisely because just to describe her eyes alone, it takes several pages. Together with her sisters, Sagi and Minar, Anjani yearned for answers. Where was she? Was she dead? Where would the road take her? Into the abyss? Or into the great chasm of regret?

Thank you, Anjani, for being the first story that made all those empty dreams come true.
Selamat lahir, Anjani.

Fun fact:
Anjani was my dream name for my future daughter.
Well, now I have a daughter (in pdf form) by @nidazsal
