Celebrating another Milestone 😇

Hi, I’m Noelle Uloko (also fondly called Noella) - a woman on a mission to inspire, equip, and support others through faith, purpose, and practical wisdom. I lead a growing community of singles @singlestimeout who are being empowered for purpose-driven relationships and wholeness. I’m a gospel Recording Artist, a Certified Marriage Counsellor and a Private Sector Business Executive, passionate about excellence in all I do.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of participating in this transformational Marriage and Family Therapy course at the Institute of Family Life, Interventions and Human Development (IFIHDACADEMY) to further enhance my work with the singles in my community as they prepare towards marriage and life after marriage. This learning experience at IFIHDACADEMY turned out to be one of reflection, healing, and inner recalibration for me, first.

Amongst many other things, this course has reinforced my commitment to ethics of therapy, emotional responsibility, relational authenticity, and identity-led living. I’m immensely grateful to my Coaches- Coach Okezie Omenaka and Coach Musa Bello (aka Coach Sodium) for pouring into us with such depth and compassion. I feel more equipped - not just to support others, but to honour my own emotional world with grace and truth.

That being said, I look forward to deepening my knowledge in all the other courses offered at the institute.

Children remember far more than we give them credit for.

They remember who treated them well and who didn’t, even when they lacked the words to explain it.

And when they grow up, they begin to tell their stories- often without protecting the image the adults with them have worked hard to project or maintain.

A wife is to be found, not a job vacancy to be advertised.

A while ago, I was discussing with some colleagues, how some men (even influential ones), come online to announce that they are looking for a wife.

From a therapist’s point of view, it could point to deeper issues such as:

1. Their relationship with attention
2. Their comfort with private vulnerability
3. Their views on women and partnership
4. Their emotional maturity(immaturity) and awareness

At the risk of sounding too academic or technical, I will not go into dissecting the aforementioned points.

The truth is that repeatedly posting “I need a wife” or making posts that suggests a potential wife should make the first move towards you often comes from avoiding vulnerability. It feels easier to make a public declaration and hope someone appears in the DMs. But marriage is not crowd sourcing. It is built through conversation, prayer, and genuine pursuit.

Using obvious or subtle posts to lure women into your DM is beneath honour. A wife is not applying for a job. Scripture says a man should find a wife, which means you get up, you go out, you speak, you commit. That is what honourable pursuit looks like, not sitting back and expecting a selection process like an NYSC posting.

A man who truly wants a wife will not announce it endlessly. He will act. He will pursue. He will take responsibility. Marriage is not a public audition. It is a private decision that requires sense, dignity, and effort.

Even women, who are not primarily responsible for finding, are encouraged to carry themselves with wisdom and intention. Let us all do better.
