With me? Thanks for asking! New gaming job! Childcare! Daycare! Getting covid (again!) while traveling! Vaccinations! Medications! And of course, all the WFH! Somehow in the midst of it all I’m squeezing in a few games of Apex but it’s left precious little bandwidth for the socials and the dopamine of fake internet points. Every other movie out right now: “SPIDER MAN IS A MENACE!”
Last seen: Matrix4! Lana’s reliance on more natural light and certain RED optics is apparently what made for that soft, heavily motion-blurred look that won’t tickle everyone. We’re out of lockdown (more or less) in Ontario; after having endured some of the longest, costliest, and least-effective restrictions in the developed world. In short, I’m looking forward to seeing some fuckin movies again!

May your Christmas Week taste better than the substrate it was grown in!
Last Watch: Ang Lee’s ‘Gemini Man’ isn’t a good movie. But if you’re dying to see a shitload of high-midrange-detail photography in a quasi NatGeo style between f8 and f11, you might find something to interest. Will Smith stars as the world’s gosh-darn-nicest contract killer trying to redeem his younger CGI self - without the assistance of rim lights. Some of it is interesting, some of it is beautiful; none of it clicks and the script is absolutely nutless.

So what’s new with you? Lockdowns are ‘actually’ lifting in Ontario after over 16 months of @Fordnation’s homicidal incompetence, and having access to my own city again will take getting used to.
I’m personally double-vaxed and loving it. A few weeks after jab 1, several persistent long-haul symptoms disappeared. Places I Haven’t Been In A While V4: The Steel Bridge, Portland, Oregon 🌒

Simpler times in Portland, skinheads aside. Here in Toronto we’re approaching 341 days since the start of the lockdown age, with various ups and downs in restrictions en route. Since then I’ve seen friends exactly twice, family in BC zero times, had zero houseguests, put one furry friend to sleep, and worked most days 🐜

Doctors want another two weeks of lockdown for Toronto.
Tough call for #Dofo. Telling people to stay put is cheap. But the optics of twelve months of rolling lockdowns are bad and ‘folks’ are already pretty irritable.
Addressing social determinants of health being undermined by lockdown policies is expensive and hard and stuff, and geez can’t you people just take public health into your own hands for once?
