My birthday was this past Friday, October 23, 2026. It’s hitting me a little extra hard this year: Self-examination, as well as the melancholy, and wistful nostalgia and memories!

This is me when I was a kid. I received the Shogun Warriors for my birthday, most likely in 1977. I think that’s the year they were released in the US.
I remember seeing these in the toy department at a local Strawbridges and being so enthralled! For whatever reason, I knew that I was going to be getting them for my birthday that year, and I was so excited with the prospect of having these amazing robot toys. It was such an incredible time of childhood. I was also into the Micronauts toys at the time, and I recall conducting battles between them and the Shogun warriors. I actually still have all three of them, but they are a little beat up. They were quite played with!
I can’t thank my parents enough, not just for the wonderful memories, but also for their love, and the sacrifices they made for myself, as well as my sister. Not just buying us toys, but for the support in all aspects of our lives.

I felt like I had to participate in @cranks_toys handy dandy handful o’ toys, so I ran up to my junk room and threw this together! After checking out some of the amazing photos of other collectors, I realized I should’ve thrown in a few monster finger puppets! In any case, I’m truly amazed at all the wonderful collections out there! #rubbermonsters #vintagetoys #toycollection #monstertoys #crankstoys by @nightmaretank

Another skulk skulpt. Same deal as the previous green one. Made with model magic & painted with acrylic. Given the gaming miniature base treatment using a plastic base, terrain materials, paints and modeling grass tufts. #skullart #monsterart #gamingminiatures #scratchbashing #miniaturesculpting by @nightmaretank

So I had this little green skull laying around. I have a handful of these, from several years ago, made with model magic & painted with acrylic. Since I’ve been interested in gaming figures and scratchbashing these days, I thought I’d give it the terrain/gaming base treatment! Used a plastic base, terrain materials, gaming paints, & modeling grass tufts. There’s some similar ones down in my feed. NOTE: longer description, since we can only use five hashtags now! #skullart #monsterart #gamingminiatures #scratchbashing #miniaturesculpting by @nightmaretank

My friend @girlintrailer15 made a drawring of my monster! The sketch was done using mechanical pencils on paper. The figure was created using a scratch-building technique using a small plastic dinosaur skeleton, milliput clay, painted with various miniature paints, and based with modeling terrain materials! #pencildrawing #monsterart #rpgminiatures #scratchbuilt #sculpture by @nightmaretank
