Day 30: My pick for today is Slanted (2025), I watched this on the flight back to SD. I missed watching it last year, so had to take advantage of watching it for free.

Another Body Horror, it was pretty deep. Learning to love yourself and appreciate what you have.

Day 29: Today's pick is Clayface (2026). I'm a Batman fan so had to watch this villain origin story!

I enjoyed it, def reminded me a bit of Darkman, even tho Darkman is still my fav! Ahead of its time with the practical effects.

But def enjoyed seeing Body Horror mixed with the comic villain story. Tom Rhys did a great job of portraying Clayface, such a tragic story.

Also Naomi Ackie did an amazing job as well, their chemistry together was great. It left me a bit depressed but it's a villain story so there wasn't going to be a happy ending lol

Day 27: Yesterday's pick was The Cycle (2026). I was lucky to see the early trailer at Comic Con this year! I'll also watch anything with Deborah Ann Woll.

I'm a huge werewolf and a serial killer/murder mystery fan so you get the combo in this flick!

The transformation scene was pretty cool, the best I've seen in a minute! I believe it was with practical effects! Def recommend checking it out!

Part 1 of the Chicago Botanic Garden Night of 1000 Jack-o-Lanterns! It was cool to see the artists carving and painting the pumpkins. The detail is crazy! 😈🎃🔥

Day 24: I am skipping today's theme, in honor of my trip to Chicago, I watched Nia DaCosta's Candyman (2021) on the plane ride here.

I enjoyed this sequel! Liked how they linked it to the first one and we get a Tony Todd cameo! Also the way the opening shot was filmed was cool! Also the Candyman scenes in the mirror were dope!

"I am the writing on the wall, the whisper in the classroom!" 🐝

Day 23: My pick for punks is La Venganza de los Punks (1991) it's a sequel to Intrepidos Punks.. it's a Mexican Punksploitation mixed with a bit of some horror elements.

The opening scene is graphic and brutal. It has some crazy k*ll scenes. Also the leader of the Punk gang has pretty interesting outfits.

Day 22: My pick for Goths is Blade 2 (2002), this sequel was directed by one of my favorite directors Guillermo Del Toro.

I believe this movie allowed him to experiment or create a blueprint for his vampire design for The Strain! Fav part in the franchise!

Day 21: My pick for new to me found footage is Australian horror flick The Tunnel (2011), this is my first time watching this.

Honestly found footage is my least favorite of horror subgenres. This was more funny than horror for me. It was a bit of a slow burn too, took awhile to get to the action.

Day 20: My pick for Highway Horror will be Hope (2026) , bending the rules a bit, picked it since it has a Highway chase scene from what I saw in the trailer. 😈🛣️

First time watching, bummed I missed it on the big screen! It's a South Korean sci-fi/ horror monster film!

Day 19: My pick today for one of my favorite franchises is Insidious, I love the lore about the further and astral projection!

Also Lin Shaye as Elise has been one of my favorite characters of this series!

I will watch Insidious Out of The Further (2026) I haven't seen it yet, excited to watch it!
