HELSINKI NIGHT PEOPLE MEET-UP
Network & chill for nightlife actives

Tue 13.10.2026 · 18–22h
H2O2 · Kaikukatu 4

Come meet other night people for drinks, snacks, chats, music, movement and future imagining. Open to all nightlife doers and thinkers: DJs, promoters, club and festival people, dancers, ravers, collectives, night-time innovators and activists – old and new.

The evening is hosted by Nightshift Finland and VibeLab’s Night School Nordics, and includes Night Thinking with Simo Vassinen @simovassinen & DJ Essi Eirene @essi_eirene: an easy-to-enter movement and future-imagining workshop exploring nightlife visions and dreams. Plus special live performance by Murrettumeri @lil_e_vert2020.

The evening is also a live gathering for the Night School Nordics training program for early-career nightlife creatives.

Our dreams and ideas will feed into a Helsinki Night Manifesto, presented to decision-makers at Helsinki City Hall on 25 November.

Happy to introduce our next NightSchool Nordics specialist Roosa Järvinen!

Roosa is originally from Finland, but spent the past years living in 7 countries and travelling to many; working, studying and dancing to some sick, sick tunes. She has MSc in Psychology and a psychotherapeutic PgCert in Sexual Therapy, with almost 10 years of experience across psychology and the event industry: as a therapist (queer ngo’s, drug rehabs), lecturer, researcher, stage and night manager, tech manager, door selector, awareness lead, event producer and so on. Everything but basically a DJ. Roosa is the so-called ultimate good mood generator. She runs awareness company Awara and tours the world creating safer and happier spaces, from festivals and iconic parties to even ski centres. Now Roosa is writing a book about this work. In her free time she loves cute nerdy stuff, Muay Thai, gym, visual arts (painting, lights or whatever) and sauna.

Happy to introduce our next NightSchool Nordics specialist marum!

Specialist marum has crafted over the years a hybrid artistic practice across music and queer rave culture, exploring psychedelia and collective care through sound and moving image, rooted in a feminist hacker ethos.
As a DJ plays across genres from techno to drone to psychedelic entanglements of dub, bass, and eerie organic textures. marum’s sound research delves into the modulation of sub-frequencies and vibroacoustic technologies to explore resistance and mourning through listening practices. Between Lisbon and Berlin, marum has founded projects such as mina, infinity rug, ins3kt Ræve and XenoEntities Network. As part of mina, marum was one of the founders of the DIY queer-run club space Planeta Manas, from 2021 until 2025, after a series of police raids amidst a rapidly gentrifying Lisbon.

Happy to introduce our next NightSchool Nordics specialist Josephine ‘Pepita’ Niang!

Josephine ‘Pepita’ Niang (she/her) is a communications strategist and awareness practitioner working at the intersection of club culture, political education, and discrimination-critical facilitation. Rooted in Berlin’s Black diasporic and queer communities, she approaches club culture not only as a cultural scene but as a space of belonging, refuge, and community building. She facilitates workshops for teams, film productions, and cultural spaces, supporting them in working together more sensitively around discrimination, with a focus on structural power relations, definitional authority, and centring those affected. Alongside her communications and advocacy work at Clubcommission Berlin, the network representing the city’s club culture, she studied Sociocultural Studies, researching power-critical perspectives on awareness and alliance work.

Happy to introduce our next NightSchool Nordics specialist Sampo Axelsson!

Sampo is a strategic designer driven by curiosity and fascinated by change. For most of his career, he has combined a day job in consulting with a steady stream of side projects spanning music, culture, and urban development. This has allowed him to combine the big and shiny with the small and charming. He has created commercial concepts for major real estate developers as well as individual housing co-ops. On the events side, he has worked closely with large festivals such as Flow, but also created underground concepts of his own. In 2025, Sampo led the team behind R4, a temporary community/event space and a bar. In 2026, he has been setting up The Junction, a dance, music, and culture space in Helsinki’s Vallila district.
