currently you can find me desperately trying to get my hands on more pokemon 30th anniversary packs 👀

with how stressful getting pokemon packs has become - as well as generally pricey - i don’t tend to pick up pokemon bits very often at all. but, i absolutely love the 30th anniversary cards and immediately knew i wanted to open some!! pikachu is also my favourite pokemon, so of course i am dying to get all 30 pikachu variants from this collection 💛

happy sunday! i’m planning to spend my evening in crime scene cleaner 🫧🧽

i very kindly got a press key to review this game when it first came out, and absolutely fell in love with it. the game meshes story really nicely into the levels, while your character is cleaning up murders to make money. there are tons of secrets and every level is so satisfying. a little while back they added a whole new act with new levels and i’ve been meaning to pick it back up to play more! this also feels like a perfect rec for spooky season 🎃👻 by @nightswithtea

i’ve always wanted to love Stardew Valley with it almost being THE token cozy-game. but it’s always caused me SO much stress - the ticking time in the day, the guides and things to keep track of etc.

i wanted to give it another shot recently, and i discovered it actually has in-game cheats 👀 for me, the most stressful part of the game is feeling anxious about not getting home on time and running around frantically unable to enjoy it. so i am DELIGHTED to discover that you can teleport freely with cheats enabled, along with giving yourself items or money (which i use a bit more sparingly). i know it’s not the intended way to play, but i’ve finally been able to enjoy it and relax, build a cozy farm and dig into it without constantly stressing. i can just focus on the things i enjoy in the game 🤎

how has everyone been recently and what are we all playing? September is a stacked month for gaming releases and i’m still debating if i pick up Wolverine on release or wait for reviews. by @nightswithtea

i’ve been adding a lot to my setup lately, and that includes a tiny portrait monitor so i can finally pull up discord/youtube while i game 🤭 took me a while to settle on a 15.6” as i really wanted it to feel flush with my main setup. outside of that, i have been buying many fake plants, frames & desperately need a bit more lighting! 🪴🖼️💡

balatro is one of my favourite games of all time, and i may have purchased it again on switch just to make sure i have it with me for all my future travels.

if you haven’t played it, this is a poker rouguelike where you play poker hands to score points and beat bosses, all while joker cards increase your scoring abilities in different ways. it’s quite quickly addictive - though i almost feel you have to play it to understand why.

i’m travelling to Venice next week so this will definitely be coming with me for the journey! 🙂‍↕️ what is everyone else playing in this heatwave? by @nightswithtea

i’ve been finding it hard to stick to a single game lately, but i started High on Life yesterday and (fingers crossed) i think i’ll actually finish this one! 👽

high on life is an alien shooter with dialogue akin to rick and morty (i never actually got into the show - so i wasn’t sure if it would land for me - but i’ll admit it’s actually quite funny). the FPS elements are pretty smooth and there’s a bunch of weapon upgrades and progression that i wasn’t expecting. so far, really excited to keep playing more and i love that it’s a bit of a shorter game too! what’s everyone else been playing lately? 🤎 by @nightswithtea

When @laced_audio restocked this gorgeous @expedition33official vinyl I was alllll over it! This version is the 2LP with 2 different colour variants - one’s a deep purple and the other is more of a cloudy pink/white. This is the most stunning video game soundtrack I’ve ever heard and putting it on always gives me chills.

Do you guys have any vinyl for your favourite soundtracks? I have this, Oxenfree and Minecraft but I’d love to get more gaming soundtracks ❤️ by @nightswithtea

decided to pick up @paralivesgame on sale a few weeks ago as i heard the game will be going up in price as they continue to update it throughout early access!

for anyone who’s not heard of it, this is a new game very similar to The Sims but it builds on a lot of what players have always wanted in the base game. building is easier and furniture is much more customisable; there’s more depth to characters and the world and you can do a lot in the game without any extra DLCs. i’m still getting the hang of how it works and i’m not sure if i love it yet, but it’s very chill. has anyone else picked it up? 🤎 by @nightswithtea

Astro Bot: Complete ✅

it’s taken a good year for me to make my way through Astro Bot, but it’s not because i didn’t love it! this game is fantastic, and one of Sony’s best IP’s in my eyes. the gameplay is the perfect mix of whimsical and childlike while still offering a real challenge at times too. more than anything though, it’s FUN. it’s everything a game should be. every planet is different, there’s fun gameplay changes, designs and secrets everywhere. i equally couldn’t put it down and didn’t want it to end (hence why i’ve spent quite so long finishing it). if you’ve ever been on the fence about it, i couldn’t recommend it more. it very much reminded me of playing Super Mario 64 as a kid.

now playing: the council 🫆

this choices-matter episodic game is currently on a huge discount for the steam sale (a little over £1!) you play as a man looking to find his missing mother, all while making choices and having conversations that impact your story. i’m only a little ways into chapter 1 for now, but any game where you can make an impact in the narrative is one i know i’ll love! has anyone played this before?

i’ve never played a Donkey Kong game before, so i’m very excited to try Bananza for the first time (even though i have so many games on the go right now) 🦍

i’m a big fan of mario odyssey and i’m expecting this to be a bit similar (not completely haha) so i’m looking forward to properly starting it today. nintendo games are always so fun and easy on the brain though and i love that!

i’ve been very into retro gaming recently, and decided to pick up my 3DS again - and i’m playing through my first ever Luigi’s Mansion game! 📺

i love the completely different vibes Luigi’s Mansion brings to the Mario franchise. it’s horror but cutesy and fun, and so far there’s so much mystery i can’t wait to unpack. i can’t believe it’s my first time playing the franchise but i’m eager to play through all the titles at some point!

i’m also just loving being back on my 3DS in general, it’s such a handy console to slip in your pocket and it holds charge so well. something about it just feels so refreshing nowadays - maybe just playing games in a way that’s completely offline and disconnected.
