Some friendships start on social media, growing through Story replies and DMs, until one day—by chance—they move beyond the screen. Carmine is from Calabria (with Puglian roots), while I’m from Monopoli. In June 2025, purely by chance (after seeing his Instagram Story), I realized Carmine was in Matera—and so was I, though for work. I messaged him, and we met up on "neutral ground"; meeting in person for the first time was magical. ✨ What can I say? It was wonderful—proof that the value of a bond goes far beyond distance and pixels. Swipe to the second photo to see just how happy we were (the background might be blurred, but the emotions are crystal clear! 📸). Now it’s my turn to go visit him in Calabria. ✔️ What about you? Have you ever met an online friend in person on "neutral ground"? Tell me your story in the comments! 👇

📸). Ora tocca a me andare a trovarlo in Calabria ✔️ E voi? 👇

The sea in September is hypnotic and silent, capable of offering unique reflections of light without the summer crowds 🌊🌊🌊 #sea #seasky #blusea#skyclouds #instagram by @nigro.carmine

The poetry of trees 🌳💚 #calabria #instagram #tree #italy #natura woods by @nigro.carmine

On blue summer evenings, I will wander the paths,
Prickled by the wheat, trampling fine grass:
Dreamy, I will feel its freshness on my feet.
I will let the wind bathe my bare head.
I will not speak, I will not think of anything:
But infinite love will rise in my soul,
And I will go far, very far, like a gypsy,

🌊🌊🌊 The sea: that infinity, which, despite being unreachable,
surrounds me on every side.

Flowers that bloom in unlikely places fascinate me. By standing outside the established patterns, they offer perspectives that are often rare. Overlooked.

I want to share this photo from the sunrise on February 11th with all my Instagram friends who follow me 😃. I love nature. In one pocket, I have the sea and in the other, a river, the meadow in my backpack, and the mountains in my fanny pack. In my hat, the clear, wild air of the forests.
