Endurance exhibition
What is beyond war? When and how colonialism is present?
The Kurdish experience between Endurance and Art.
Endurance will be on show at Street Gallery, IAIS, in Exeter city, it talks from the first person’s language, talks about endurance,
about days in long years of colonialism, about art as the main tool for continuation.
Photographs, film, performance, text, and archives have been displayed. They tell and they ask, most importantly; they are present

During my time at Art Omi, I found myself thinking repeatedly about what it means to be seen. The residency gave me something that is often difficult to find in everyday life: time without an immediate demand for a finished answer.
I arrived with questions about the body, the gaze, identity, vulnerability, and the ways in which a body carries its personal and political history. Instead of trying to resolve these questions, I began allowing them to move through different forms—photography, video, writing, and installation.
Art Omi also reminded me of the importance of artistic community. A residency is not only about having a studio or producing new work. It is also about encounters: conversations during meals, unexpected questions, moments of misunderstanding, shared doubts, and the temporary communities that form between people with very different backgrounds and practices.

These encounters made me think more carefully about translation. Not only translation between languages, but also between experiences, histories, bodies, and artistic forms. How much context should an artwork provide? What remains inaccessible to the viewer? Can not fully understanding something become part of the experience?

I am very thankful for the beautiful people i met. to Art Omi Team. to life to aline and work out to give me the the chance to see the starry nights, full moons, deers, laughs, alike minds, beautiful souls.

REWORLDING is the overall project title for a series of five exhibitions taking place across the city of Exeter, curated by University of Exeter’s MA Curation class of 2026. Please see link in bio for details.

REWORLDING investigates the notion of ‘repair’, reimagining our shared reality in response to current social, ecological and technological crises. The project sets out to question the idea of a single dominant Western-centred worldview and the totalising claims of global consumerism, in its place amplifying marginalised human and non-human voices to build sustainable, inclusive and alternative worlds.
