Good intentions don’t always mean good follow-through. 🫠
But psychology has something to say about that.

Swipe for the research. 🧠

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF MONEY = HAPPINESS? 💸😊

We’ve all heard “money can’t buy happiness.”
But what does the research actually say?

Soooooo… meet Per the Research. 🧾

A space for the psychology behind real life.

Research without making it feel like a textbook. Evidence without taking ourselves too seriously.

STOP WAITING FOR THE “SPECIAL OCCASION.”
What we wear is more than aesthetic. Research suggests that when clothing fits well and feels visually aligned with us, it can reinforce our self-image and create a greater sense of consistency between our clothing and identity.

This connects to self-discrepancy, the gap between our actual and ideal selves. Greater self-discrepancy was associated with lower body satisfaction and self-esteem, while the authors describe clothing as one way we may bridge that gap and reinforce our self-image.

So maybe the “right” outfit isn’t about dressing better. It’s about dressing in a way that feels more aligned with you and the version of yourself you want to become.

Wear the outfit.

Hossain, M. J., Chang, H. J. (J.), & Jones, R. P. (2025). I bought it and I feel good! An examination of fit factors and self-evaluation related to confident clothing decisions and psychological well-being. Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, 84, 104167. by @niikksc

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF CLOCKING OUT
Being off the clock and actually disconnecting from work aren’t always the same thing. Put the phone down. Do something fun & completely unrelated to work. Your brain deserves to clock out, too.

Consider this your reminder to bet on yourself. 🎰

Research suggests that how we see ourselves can shape whether we’re willing to bet on our own performance.
