पर आपकी आंखों को मिर्चों की तरह नहीं गड़ता है

सबसे ख़तरनाक वह गीत होता है
आपके कानों तक पहुंचने के लिए
जो मरसिए पढ़ता है
आतंकित लोगों के दरवाज़ों पर
जो गुंडों की तरह अकड़ता है

सबसे ख़तरनाक वह रात होती है
जो ज़िंदा रूह के आसमानों पर ढलती है
जिसमें सिर्फ़ उल्लू बोलते और हुआं हुआं करते गीदड़
हमेशा के अंधेरे बंद दरवाज़ों-चौगाठों पर चिपक जाते हैं

सबसे ख़तरनाक वह दिशा होती है
जिसमें आत्‍मा का सूरज डूब जाए
और उसकी मुर्दा धूप का कोई टुकड़ा
आपके जिस्‍म के पूरब में चुभ जाए

मेहनत की लूट सबसे ख़तरनाक नहीं होती

'Vande Mataram' has become a litmus test for nationalism a tool to divert attention from real questions: inequality, unemployment, a crumbling education system. Nationalism is the ruling class's ideology. It masks class contradiction and in the name of unity, binds the masses to the interests of the dominant order. Bankim Chandra's Anandamath (1882) carried Hindu revivalist and communal undertones never a text of pure secular nationalism. In 1937, the Congress resolved to sing only its first two stanzas. The RSS, which once opposed the song, now uses it to issue certificates of patriotism.
This is how false consciousness is made religious-national identity placed above class. Gramsci called it hegemony.

Gandhi's assassination was not the last, it was merely the beginning of a theatre of violence in independent India, a stage upon which the BJP has ridden to power. Savarkar's own great-grandson has now testified that Godse was an RSS member. The Kapur Commission found his ties to the assassination, evidence that died with him, never tested in court.
Dabholkar, Pansare and Gauri Lankesh, The same chain of events that began in January 1948. This year, Dabholkar's shooter was granted bail, his life sentence suspended.
To borrow the words of Rajesh Joshi: those who do not participate in this madness will be killed.

The judiciary is often held up as democracy's great equalizer impartial, above politics, answerable only to the constitution. But look closely at who actually gets bail, whose degree gets refused, whose case waits years for trial, and a different picture emerges an institution that reflects the class and caste structure of the society it sits atop, rather than standing apart from it.

On August 7, 2026, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey signed a collective mutual defense agreement in Mecca — an extension of the Pakistan-Saudi pact from September 2025. Much like NATO's Article 5, an attack on one is treated as an attack on all.
But "Islamic brotherhood" is just an ideological veneer. This agreement safeguards the ruling classes of all three nations — the Saudi monarchy, Pakistan's military-bureaucratic nexus, and Erdogan-centric capitalism, nations that have long served as a secondary line of defense for US imperialist interests.
The alliance is an attempt to fill the power vacuum created by waning US hegemony in West Asia. But the contradictions remain: Pakistan-India tensions, Turkey-Israel friction in Syria, and Pakistan declining to extend its nuclear umbrella to the pact.
The burden will fall on the working population, rising taxes, expanding defense budgets, and war hysteria fueled by nationalism and security rhetoric.

Seven years since Article 370 and 35A were revoked and Kashmir is still living with the consequences from the loss of statehood to internet shutdowns, pellet guns, custodial deaths, and a political class that keeps being handed broken promises. This is a reminder that the gap between Delhi's idea of India and the lived reality of Kashmiri cannot be closed with slogans or optics, it needs an honest reckoning with Kashmiriyat, real dialogue and the restoration of statehood and civil rights because anything less is just theatre.
