Today’s small story bring us back to 19th century and perhaps to one of the most prominent figures in the history of 19th century Europe, alongside Queen Victoria,Napoleon Bonaparte and many others. This person has been known for his dedication to the country. Later down the line in history famous Battleship was named after him: Otto Eduard Leopold, Prince of Bismarck, Count of Bismarck-Schönhausen, Duke of Lauenburg(born Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck-Schönhausen; 1 April 1815 – 30 July 1898) was a German statesman and diplomat who oversaw the unification of Germany and served as its first chancellor from 1871 to 1890. Bismarck’s Realpolitik and firm governance earned him the nickname Iron Chancellor (Eiserner Kanzler). #ottovonbismarck #prussia #history taken in Kingdom of Prussia by @nikihistory_

The German Africa Corps, commonly known as Afrika Korps, was the German expeditionary force in Africa during the North African campaign of World War II. First sent as a holding force to shore up the Italian defense of its African colonies, the formation fought on in Africa, under various appellations, from March 1941 until its surrender in May 1943. The unit’s best known commander was Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, whose reputation as one of the ablest tank commanders of the war earned him the nickname “the Desert Fox” (der Wüstenfuchs). Hello everyone today is another story: The Roman Empire was a state that controlled the Mediterranean and much of Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa during the classical period. The Roman Republic had previously conquered most of these territories, which became ruled by emperorsfollowing triumvir Octavian’s rise to power and establishment of a Principate regime in 27 BC. By the 4th century AD the empire split into western and eastern halves. The Western Empire collapsedin 476 AD, while the Eastern Empire endured until the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Continuing a small posts about Historical Legends we are looking at: Hannibal (/ˈhænɪbəl/; Punic: 𐤇𐤍𐤉𐤁𐤏𐤋; 247 – between 183 and 181 BC) was a Carthaginian general and statesman who commanded the forces of Carthage in their battle against the Roman Republic during the Second Punic War. Hannibal lived during a period of great tension in the Mediterranean Basin, triggered by the emergence of the Roman Republic as a great power with its defeat of Carthage in the First Punic War. Revanchism prevailed in Carthage, symbolized by the pledge that Hannibal made to his father to “never be a friend of Rome”. Hannibal is considered one of the greatest military tacticians and generals of Western antiquity, alongside Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Scipio Africanus, and Pyrrhus. According to Plutarch, Scipio asked Hannibal “who the greatest general was”, to which Hannibal replied “either Alexander or Pyrrhus, then myself”. #hannibalbarca #rome #history obviously there is a a song by @sabatonofficial album: “Legends” Song: “Lighting at the Gates” taken in Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia by @nikihistory_

Vlad III (1428/31 – 1476/77), commonly known as Vlad the Impaler, was Voivode of Wallachia three times between 1448 and his death. He was regarded as a hero in Romania due to his opposition to the Ottoman Empire and he is considered an important ruler in Wallachian history. Books describing Vlad’s cruel acts were among the first bestsellers in the German-speaking territories. In Russia, popular stories suggested that Vlad was able to strengthen his central government only by applying brutal punishments, and many 19th-century Romanian historians adopted a similar view. Vlad’s patronymic inspired the name of Bram Stoker’s literary vampire, Count Dracula.

Hello ! Today I want to post small history post about final blow to the Third Reich. The battle in Berlin was an end phase of the Battle of Berlin. While the Battle of Berlin encompassed the attack by three Soviet fronts (army groups) to capture not only Berlin but the territory of Germany east of the River Elbe still under German control, the battle in Berlin details the fighting and German capitulation that took place within the city. The outcome of the battle to capture the capital of Nazi Germany was decided during the initial phases of the Battle of Berlin that took place outside the city. As the Soviets invested Berlin and the German forces placed to stop them were destroyed or forced back, the city’s fate was sealed. Nevertheless, there was heavy fighting within the city as the Red Army fought its way, street by street, into the centre.
On 23 April 1945, the first Soviet ground forces started to penetrate the outer suburbs of Berlin. By 27 April, Berlin was completely cut off from the outside world. The battle in the city continued until 2 May 1945. On that date, the commander of the Berlin Defence Area, General Helmuth Weidling, surrendered to Lieutenant-General Vasily Chuikov, commander of the Soviet 8th Guards Army, a component of Marshal Georgiy Zhukov’s 1st Belorussian Front.

Today’s post is about someone special. This person had changed their fate and changed the world his triumph and fall are now his legacy, he conquered Europe like the Caesar, he is known for many battles but last one brought his demise in 1815, Waterloo. And his name is: Napoleon Bonaparte (born Napoleone di Buonaparte; 15 August 1769 - 5 May 1821), later known by his regnal name Napoleon I, was a French general and statesman who rose to prominence during the French Revolution and led a series of military campaigns across Europe during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars from 1796 to 1815. He led the French Republic as First Consul from 1799 to 1804, then ruled the French Empire as Emperor of the French from 1804 to 1814, and briefly again in 1815. He was King of Italy from 1805 to 1814, Protector of the Confederation of the Rhine from 1806 to 1813, and Mediator of the Swiss Confederation from 1803 to 1813.
