Would you attempt to build your primary residence completely on your own? 🤔

@allisonxbrown__ recently shared that she is “self-building” her dream 3,600 sq ft home for only $350,000. What a steal! 🤯 But I have so many questions. 👇🏽

- Where is the home located?
- Does that cost include the land cost?
- Does “self-building” mean you are executing all the labor yourselves?
- Are you doing all the procurement of materials?

Would you ever attempt to manage a project this size yourself? For most people, their home is the biggest purchase they will ever make and there are so many details to be considered.

As a professional interior designer, I’m fully aware that many homeowners opt to manage trades to do updates on their existing home, but I wouldn’t advise anyone to attempt a full new construction build without professional guidance.
