WDWC 2026

People who are close to me know I hardly ever say "I am proud of myself" but I am incredibly proud this bronze medal.
This whole weekend was filled with ups and downs from the start. There were some big PB's and some disappointments but that's the decathlon. Pole vault was the epitome of this. After jumping a 50cm PB, I fouled at my first attempt on the next height. The bar ended up falling on my face, breaking multiple teeth and part of my jaw. With only 2 more events to go, I decided my legs still worked and that I did not want a year worth of hard work to go to waste. Definitely still shaken by the accident, javelin was messy but I was relieved to get a mark in. I went into the 1500 with no plan other than "run" as I thought I was stuck in 5th place and had no chance of medaling anymore. Turns out, it's never over until it's over. I ran a myself to a bronze medal and a massive PB in both the 1500 and total score.
While I know I can always do more and always be better, I am proud of myself for never giving up and continuing to fight throughout this competition.

I will certainly be back next year for WDWC 2027 (probably with a mouth guard)

A massive thank you to my support system, without whom I would have never been able to do this. Thank you to the medical staff who did everything they could to make sure I was okay and received the proper care.
Thank you to @lo_kuntz for another great event! No one sees all the work behind the scenes. by @nikki.s_b

🔴 Instagram LIVE with the reigning Women’s Decathlon World Champ🔥 @nikki.s_b today 8/6 at 6:30pm ET.

She’s back to defend her title at the 3rd annual Women’s Decathlon World Champs (@womensdecathlon) this weekend: 10 events, 2 days, zero Olympic recognition (yet). You read that correctly. Women’s Decathlon is still not a thing. Pull up and let’s help change that.
