Salem… a piece of me remains 🐦‍⬛ When you start traveling alone, something in you changes. Pieces of who you once were are left behind, while the places you explore begin to carve themselves into you #salem #newengland #solotravel #findinghappiness #wanderlust by @nikkigunns28

My Riley Girl…. You are my world, my heart, my soul, my purpose, my happiness, my security, my home, my baby, my everything… The best parts of me were shaped by your paws. Who I became was motivated by your beautiful smile and fluffy wagging tail. From the moment we first locked eyes and you ran to sit at my feet, it has only ever been you and me—Riley & Nicole—taking on this life together for the last 12.5 years. I poured every ounce of my love into you, and not a day will go by where my love for you ever fade. It has been the greatest honor and blessing of my life to have been given the chance to be your Mommy. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for fiercely protecting me and making me feel safe again. Thank you for our 4am moonlight walks, sitting side by side gazing up at the stars, your excitement when I walked through the door, our afternoons on the patio, our sunset evenings on the lawn, your happiness rolling through freshly cut grass, and our nightly snuggles before bed. All my days began and ended with you. You are my anchor, my peace, my sanctuary. Thank you for always sleeping by my side, for being ThunderBuddies throughout every storm, for your love of the outdoors, sticks, treats, and making every day an adventure in all your little ways. Thank you for the countless memories from all our time in California, the lake house, road trips, canyon hikes, and turning our first house into a loving home. Thank you for drying every tear I shed, for healing the broken parts of me, teaching me patience, and helping me find hope again. Thank you for always being there so I was never alone, for giving me a reason to rush home every day, and for showing me what loyalty and unconditional love feels like. I’ve always said, “It’s Riley’s world and I’m just living in it.” And what an amazing, beautiful, loving world and life it has been with you by my side every step of the way. Thank you for all the laughter, the playfulness, the quiet moments, the strength, the companionship… and mostly… Thank you for rescuing me. In this life and the next. It will always and forever be Me & You, babygirl…. My Lil Miss Riley 🖤🐾🪽✨ by @nikkigunns28
