Looking for a couples getaway near DC that doesn’t require burning PTO or spending hours traveling? I found one that’s worth adding to your list. ❤️

Our stay at @thewatermarkhotel , a luxury all-suite hotel in Tysons, reminded us that you don’t have to travel far to feel like you’ve escaped.

A few things you’ll want to know before you book:

✔️ Every guest room is a suite, with multiple floor plans to choose from. Ours had a full kitchen, dining area, living room, separate bedroom, balcony, and plenty of space to actually unwind.

✔️ Breakfast at The Aviary is included with your overnight stay, and it’s a full buffet that makes getting out of bed a little easier.

✔️ Parking is just $25/day with in-and-out privileges, which is a great value compared to many hotels closer to DC that charge around $60 for overnight parking.

✔️ Love to shop? @shoptysons is just minutes away, making this an easy weekend for great food and a little retail therapy.

✔️ You could easily spend your entire stay without leaving the property. Between @wrentysons , The Aviary, the hidden @naishoroom speakeasy, @perchputt, rooftop green space, lawn games, and food trucks, there’s plenty to do.

✔️ Guests can also borrow complimentary bikes to explore the Capital One Center area at your own pace.

I’d recommend this for an anniversary, birthday weekend, date night, or anytime you and your favorite person need a change of scenery.

@sandboxvr is now on Baltimore! The fam and I have had a lot of VR experiences and this is the most immersive yet. You couldn’t tell me I wasn’t actually a player in Squid Game. We also played a zombie game and it was like we stepped into a horror movie 👀.

If you need an activity that will entertain the teens AND the parents this is one for sure.

Beetlejuice is at @broadwaynatdc in DC, through July 19th only. Took my teen expecting a fun show and left with a whole new appreciation for how much chaos one family can survive together…musical comedy style.

Golf inside a stadium? Different, but count us in! ⛳️⚾️

We took on @upperdeckgolf while it was at @orioles Camden Yards, where you hit golf balls from different levels of the ballpark onto targets on the field below. No golf skills required. It was one of those experiences that had all four of us laughing, getting way too competitive, and wanting another round.

If you’re looking for something different to do with your family, your partner, or a group of friends, definitely keep this one on your list.

One of my favorite ways to make a road trip feel a little more special is packing something you actually look forward to eating. That’s easy with these gourmet Gingersnap Jess Cookies (@gingersnapjesscookies ). Let everyone pick their one fave and indulge down the road.
