I can’t quite put into words what yesterday meant to me.
Singing with His Majesty’s Royal Marines band has always been one of my biggest dreams since I was a little girl.

I felt truly honoured and privileged to be invited to sing with this exquisite band on the Memorial Band Stand in Deal. A truly special day to celebrate and remember those tragically lost in the devastating IRA bombings at Deal Barracks at 08.22 on the 22nd September 1989.

To see the whole of Deal turn up on Walmer Green, with their flags and high spirits yesterday afternoon, was truly a sight I will never forget.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the @rmbandservice for allowing me to sing with you and to sing songs so close and special to me! To sing along with your absolute excellence was something I will never forget. To Capt. David Cole, who I now get to call a friend, thank you for guiding me as always and here’s to many more together. To everyone who made this happen, THANK YOU!

To my dad, my hero. A truly proud Royal Marine Bugler and Drum Major, I love you with every ounce of my being and doing this, with you and mum watching me, is a memory we will have forever. Dad, this was for you.
