Creative direction by me for ‘Yours’ by @mandauenights. This is also my final project as their CD before leaving the post. The song is about looking out into the future and wishing for success for everyone, and despite feeling like life is throwing curveballs at every corner, we’re still trying. This inspired the imagery of a board game in front of a sunrise; a little shaking of fists at the matrix but also being equally as determined and optimistic to follow through. This is the first time the band is in focus for a release, so we wanted to highlight them in the photos and the video, especially Ana who is singing in the track. A little configuration change to the ‘Mandaue Nights’ logo was done (just to shake it up a little) where we laid it out horizontally. Optimism and hope are not the same things, and I like to think the former is still a pretty good outlook to have. Unta kita nalang! Having created @vincentecomusic 's debut album design and cover, I was excited to collaborate with him as creative director to bring another full Vincent Eco project out into the world in the most fleshed out way we’ve always imagined. His EP ‘Sa May Baybayon’ tackles themes of loss, grief, losing yourself and finding yourself again—something that I relate to profoundly. Working with him to create this cinematic world along with collaborators Kyle Cua, Angeli Lazarte, Nikki Yap, Binsoy, and the people at Melt Records was such a wonderful experience. We wrote a poem manifesto that served to anchor the themes of the EP. The speed at which grief beckons itself can leave you frozen, crawling; ebbs and flows in what one day feels like calm, the next feels like a tsunami. The beach, especially as a Cebuano, can sometimes punctuate or bear witness to transformative events in our life. In Eco’s case, that 5am blue hour at the beach holds a deep meaning that became ‘Sa May Baybayon.’ by @nikko.tan

260501 friday minor setbacks, imperfections. i’m used to it all. it somehow made sense. and as always, we made it work. but today’s finally the day! a song about embracing my quirks and my past that has all led up to this. i’m proud of who i’ve become. i’m proud of who i’m surrounded with in my strange little girl fantasy. in the end, that’s all that matters to me. -angelgirl888 SLG Fantasy is out now ꒰ঌ ໒꒱ listen, resonate, embody love ya #newmusic #ukg #popmusic #discover by @nikko.tan
