Safely home!

A huge thank you to CCAPP at @theohiostateuniversity for hosting me over the last three days!

Not only did you make sure I was well taken care of, well fed, and, most importantly, well caffeinated (the fuel of science!) with a PROPER coffee machine, but you also made these three days an absolute joy.

From catching up with old colleagues to meeting some truly AWESOME new people (hello, Quinn!!!), to wonderful conversations about science, research bottlenecks, movies, food, and everything in between. We even squeezed in some work on NASA Roman commissioning, and I got to share my own research!

And the cherry on top? Finally meeting John Beacom, about whom I had heard so many wonderful things. I can now report that the reality is even better! We bonded not only over science but also over our shared love of plants. Talking science while watering the wonderful plants around the department was an unexpected and absolute highlight of my visit.

Science is wonderful, but it’s the people who make it truly special. Thank you for reminding me of that. Until next time, Columbus!

And a very special thanks to @clairelamman and Nat overlooking admin of this adventure!

After not sleeping for weeks, trying to finish the work we’ve been doing for what now feels eons, we’ve finally submitted to the arXiv.

This was, by far and to date, the most challenging project I’ve worked on.

And we’ve worked on it together so the fact that not only we’re still married but we haven’t killed each other — is an achievement in itself 🤣
(Joking aside, it’s really cool to work on science projects with your partner)

I want to rot in front of the tv now.
