a few days resetting under a blue moon, in costa brava 🩵 by @nikolinezara

i have been wanting to do this for years 🤭

my initial reason, and what still is at the centre of my decision is detachment

this year i promised myself to practice detachment.

from the beauty standards, and the worth i was attaching to my hair

from the version of myself i want to let go off

from how other people view me

from self-doubt & self-hate

and when i was met with: “no why would you do that, you’re so beautiful”
it fuelled a fire within me to finally do it. and not only doing it for myself, but donating it to people who need it more than me felt serendipitous.

i can’t express how light and free i feel, but it’s clear in the way my smile has brightened.

doing hard things, going through discomfort and exploring doubt is the only way to grow

this idea did start off with wanting to shave my head, but for now i am incredibly happy with my decision 🩵 by @nikolinezara
