how blessed we are to be alive at the same time as @madonna, who has been my lucky star for as long as i can remember.

my earliest memories are of dancing so hard to the immaculate collection that the CD would skip and of studying @joannegair’s beautiful makeup on the back of the powder blue jewel case. and in the decades that followed, every rite of passage played out against the sound of madonna’s music, which steadfastly reminded me that i had to live to tell.

when i was 24 i moved to new york city on august 16th and for a long time i would walk past her home for good luck and extra grit, which i received. years later, i have a life that i love filled with moments like last night, when i had the privilege of seeing this peerless star perform for free.

thank you @muumuse for generously inviting me to club confessions, and to my beloved friend @kevinjsmith210 for making this core memory with me. i cherish the joy you keep bringing into my life.

and thank you eternally to @madonna for being the mother that you never had to generations of gay men, living and dead: in this life, you loved us most of all. everything fades away except for you. x #mlm #madonna #confessionsii #clubconfessions taken in Knockdown Center by @nikomaragos
