New Proj V8-10 range, it’s not been finalized grade wise yet. Consensus seems to be V9 but we’ll see.

Finally got through the first section of the new project without major mistakes, the mental challenge of remembering what goes where and when on this boulder up to my crux has been a big one. It’s hard to stay cognizant when trying so hard to just stay on the wall.

Very psyched on this boulder though as it’s on a part of the wall I don’t climb on much in a style I’m not the greatest at. All the holds are so glassy and bad which means they don’t take much skin per attempt which is definitely a blessing and a curse 😂

Welp, I had @paradigm_climbing_coaching video about what a Lemay was on my mind yesterday and I might have taken it too far 😂

Finding the sort of bizarre kneebar Lemay hybrid actually made the sequence go for me because i didn’t have the bicep power for the intended beta, so thanks!

Dialing moves on “Alien Baby Left” v6 up in the Anvils in my wizard hat 😂

It’ll go in another session probably, every move just seems to fit me pretty well.

Every move does look massive when you’re under it though, that’s for sure. I’m pretty sure the span between the sloper and the finger lock for the first move is close to 6 feet and the final jump to the lip also looks a mile away. Crux for this one is definitely mental. by @nikomeus

Figured out how to setup the camera in game and record more properly.

Little hot lap action around Suzuka in the mid 1:29 range. This particular lap is about .3s slower than my all time record that I set over at @racingritual but there’s atleast another 1.5-2 seconds to find with practice.

Track is so much fun

Another failed project at @climb_nora. This was a benchmark slab with simulated granite holds. Really cool problem but it just took way too many burns to figure it out. I did do all of the moves in isolation and in two halves but just couldn’t put it together without making a mistake.

It’s always kinda sad when you only get one session at a new gym and you have to try and make it count.

As usual the local community was super supportive and we were all working the same problem together. Apparently my start beta was completely new to their setter so that was kinda neat. The intended start was just so much worse than throwing the low percentage toe hook though. At least for me.

Checked out a gym called @climb_nora and really enjoyed the setting. Spent the session projecting this “Platinum” grade traverse only to pop my foot on the finish 😂. Didn’t have another burn in me 😭

I can definitely appreciate staying away from V grades as they very rarely translate well to their outdoor counterpart in modern gyms with modern holds.

That being said they do have these “level up” boulders on simulated granite that people can do to test themselves and from what I could tell the grading on those was pretty reasonable.

All in all a good experience and the staff and members were super friendly.

Last spot of day two, after a few attempts at one move I couldn’t get quite right it went!

F2004 modded to use modern slick tires. Car was lighter and more powerful than today’s cars with much less downforce but had traction control and ridged tires back in the day. With TC , power steering (feels like), and modern tires with the extra ability to modify gearing makes this car so much easier to drive fast in the sim compared to the 2025 cars.

It feels like cheating and definitely lacks the simulation aspect in the minutia so it almost feels a bit Arcade-y but it sounds good and is a lot of fun. by @nikomeus

Honestly some of the most fun I have climbing happens in the V3-5 range. This new V3 is just a blast from start to finish.

I’ve been really loving my first pair of @unparallelup UP mocc’s as a comfy volume shoe as well They are surprisingly capable for how comfortable they are, it’s kinda crazy. It’ll probably be my new first shoe rec for most people if they fit tbh.
