So many special workshops this month to see through the end of the summer ~ including a very rare two-day, coil built Moon Jar workshop, where we will build slowly to build large-scale, moon-shaped vases, inspired by the Korean tradition of Moon Jars.

In my third year of uni, my mum - who at the time was running a community cafe to support the mental recovery of disaster-impacted towns - commissioned a series of cups and mugs for the project.
It was the resulting form that became the beginning of Nil, and remains my most popular piece.

The Slip Cup is slip-cast in porcelain, with handles carefully attached by hand. Its original relief form is hand-sculpted, allowing each piece to retain the touched history of the shape.

London - it’s been a slow stirring awake and stretching into this new geography, taking the time to learn the dialects of new clays from new earth.
I’ve been gradually building Nil up behind the scenes since moving from Sydney. The foundations have been laid now, and I’m excited to say that the metaphorical doors are opening up!

This Sunday I’m participating in my studio’s final market - a last hurrah for @greenhousestudios_sydney and my penultimate hurrah in Australia, indefinitely, as I relocate to London at the end of May.
If you’ve ever had a piece in mind but wanted to sit on it, this is your best bet of taking it home! First in, best dressed. I’m looking to sell out between now and Mother’s Day and will only have a trickle of pieces coming through the kilns.
I’ll be amongst so many sweet makers and traders, yummy food, music and wonderful company.
