“Pyrenean style”

It’s been a great year living in Pau. Thanks to all the amazing people who have been around !

The goal was to improve in slalom, but the more I trained, the more pain I started feeling in my lower back 🤕

Now the international season is coming up, and I’m going to do everything I can to perform at my best. A lot of trips are also being planned, so summer’s going to be busy.

I spend most of my time in the slalom boat, even if I don’t post a lot about it. But I still don’t know whether slalom or creeking should come first for me. Creeking and even waterfalls and bigger stuff doesn’t hurt me at all. I still need to figure out why moving around in a slalom boat creates so much pain 🤷‍♂️

The plan now is to keep moving forward and continue pushing both disciplines at the highest level possible while listening to my body! taken in Cauteret by @nilsbiermans

Race Day at the Boss of Val Sesia:

It was a great day of racing at the @boss_valsesia - finishing 15th overall in the mass start qualifications and 3rd U21 in the final. (The story repeats itself because I rolled again… but one day it will work out 🤞)

Big thanks to @bosskayak and to all the people I met during this amazing week here in this beautiful valley in Italy 🇮🇹

Devil’s slide with the left line !

The stoke was high today and the pressure too I should say because I wanted to show off a good line here. I chose to enter on the left and it worked out pretty well !

This one is always scary, but big respect to everyone else that sent their line on this ! (😉@teotouzet )

It’s always a crazy place to be : the Sorba, Val Sesia and also the @bosskayak shop 🙏

We decided to follow the rain and paddle the Bourge and the Walibi river in the Ardeche. But on the way, things didn’t go as planned: we lost a helmet on the road, blew out two tires and spend the whole weekend dealing with the tires that wouldn’t stop losing air.

Fortunatly the rivers where really sick and we had a great time out there.

Thanks to the @farvann_ ⁠ crew for coming with me.

Teo was at home dealing with an injured shoulder after a ski crash and a few weeks later I was dealing with an injury in my lower back due to intense slalom training.

So the kayak dudes will be off the water for a few weeks and we hope we can get back on the water as soon as possible and make some great content again !

A little throwback to our trip to Chile, where I paddled some of the most unforgettable whitewater of my life, surrounded by an incredible crew. We ticked off many iconic runs and stepped it up on some bigger lines as well.

I planned this journey just two weeks in advance, right in the middle of the school semester, and stepped away from slalom training for a month but it was absolutely worth the time and the investment. I learned a lot, met inspiring people, and explored unreal places.

All it makes me want to do now is head back out on another adventure.

Next up: the ski season in the French Alps, working a bit as a ski instructor as well, finishing a few exams, and continuing the winter slalom training block in Pau.

I’m also beyond stoked to be nominated as a finalist for Paddler of the Year U21.
