A little over 4 years ago I tore my right pec completely off the bone. Today was the first day in 4 years that I tackled incline bench with free weights.

After rehabbing I returned to chest exercises, but it’s been a mental hurdle for me to get away from the machine and pick up the dumbbells again. So today was a big win even if it wasn’t big weight. taken in Life Time Westchester by @nilson.g.ram

Usually we wait till after our loved ones have passed to sing their praises and “give them their flowers”. I know I did when it came to my grandfathers… but I wanted to be different with Mamini (what my siblings and I call her)… she has cancer, but you would never know it with her energy and spirit and humor. She’s 93 and had 13 kids… I have SIXTY TWO COUSINS that I know of, so needless to say she leaves an incredible legacy! Love you Mamini! taken in New York City by @nilson.g.ram
