“Sublime Fall” is a chamber within the “Hidden Gem” universe. It’s a temporary world, somewhere to set down the feeling that you’re not normal, while everyone around you seems to be.

Falling isn’t failure, but a flight 🌬️

“Sublime Fall” out this Friday, 11.09 🪩

The opening track of Hidden Gem EP.

This was also the very first one I wrote for the EP. It just arrived, so naturally, one May afternoon in 2024. And then came the months of arranging and shaping it until I could finally present it like this.

I’m so happy and grateful for all the collaborators. I got to make it with the most epic team of creatives. If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s surrounding myself with wildly talented people 🤍

Rotterdam-based composer, vocalist and producer @iamacosmicbride has released a new single, “Out of This World”.

“Out of This World” centres on the idea of otherworldly love through the lens of mycelium, the underground fungal networks often described as a form of ecological intelligence connecting plant life. Rather than treating mycelium as a metaphor alone, the project emerged from an artistic research process that examined the possibility of creative collaboration with more-than-human forms of intelligence.

As part of that process, the artist entered a laboratory setting to explore what co-creation across species might look like. By connecting her heartbeat to a substrate colonised by mycelium and transforming its electrical activity into sound, the work developed through an ongoing exchange between human and non-human participants. The resulting composition reflects what the artist describes as a continuous negotiation rather than a process directed by a single authorial voice.

The accompanying visual work extends these themes through a carefully constructed visual language developed in collaboration with photographer @rimeika_photo, art director @nimrea and a wider interdisciplinary creative team.

The musical production was led by Cosmic Bride herself, who wrote the song's music and lyrics, while co-production came from Frank Wienk, widely known for his work as @binkbeats. The track was further shaped through immersive mixing by @david_merkl, with contributions from harpist @beateloonstra and vibraphonist @miguelcorreiavarela.

This one came with 100 iterations, unexpected choices, and many incredible people pouring their best into it. Reversed all the paths until it landed where it did.
