ADE 2024 recap ✨ surprise at the end 👀

I was debating with myself whether or not should I post this whole recap. During the week, I got messaged by some who couldn't join us this year saying they're experiencing major FOMO and feel really bad about not being at such seemingly fun places and events. Truth be told, I was having fun, but beneath the surface I was dealing with a lot of dark things. Last two years are testing me in major ways, and even this week wasn't the most fun it could've been, even though my videos seemed so joyful and fun. This is I guess me reminding you, the reader, to not compare your real life to social media highlights. Not everything is as glamurous as it can seem sometimes.

Life is a rollercoaster, and I am so grateful for new friends I made this year, but be kind to yourself enough to not go down that shitty comparison rabbit hole when you see a post like this. There will be opportunities for your life to be this exciting, and when they do happen, cherish them and the people you're sharing the moment with. 🫂

This year I chose not to bring my Sony everywhere and have fun with less professional tools, such as my mini Polaroid and my Samsung phone. It was fun to constrain myself to see what I can come up with.

I hope I cross this bridge by the time ADE 2025 comes around. by @nina.sinatra

Summer is coming to an end.
Here's to all the work and effort I put into my survival these last years. Hitting the quarter mark of my life this year and universe taking me to a funny direction I sacrificed back in 2015 is a lesson I'll never forget:
Don't compromise your values, your desires, your needs, your passions, yourself, for ANYONE. Years may pass but you'll end up going down the same path you were told to forget about.
Life has a funny way of taking you back to the very path you thought you should let go in order to survive, and please others. But maybe things needed to happen this way, I don't know. After all, I now built a strong leaning rock which I hold onto dearly now.
Until next time, summer. You made me laugh, cry, and learn. Learn a LOT.

Most photos of this panorama on social media are from inside or with a drone, but I loved playing with angles outside it. This edit is subtly giving film, which was purely accidental, since I've been playing with film emulation for quite some time now.
Do you prefer editing in a modern fashion with crispy clear shots, or are you into grain and film? 🤔

Utrecht dump - film emulation horizontal edition ✨

Not much new to say - Armatar 35mm is a lovely little thing. I luckily switched to it from my kit lens when we reached the old town and I didn't switch back the whole day. Soon I'll show its magic on my film camera too 👀 taken in Utrecht, Netherlands by @nina.sinatra

Utrecht dump - film emulation ✨

I've seen quite some cities in Nederland and I still stand by Utrecht as the prettiest of them all 🌷

Sony A7III with vintage and slightly faulty 35mm Armatar f/2.8 lens - its oil on the edges is the reason behind the lovely, soft blur on the edges 😳 fun fact - I actually found the same, but properly working lens in a thrift store that same day, but decided not to buy it, for this oily mess is the actual reason why I love it so much.
