A small recap from the premiere weekend of BUSHIDŌ. It was special, exciting, and intense. I am happy and proud of the team. We did that! ❤️🥷🏼

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the upcoming performance on May 26 at Theater Bellevue Amsterdam due to an injury to one of the dancers. But don’t worry, we still have some shows the upcoming weeks where you can check us out. Next up: the 10-minute version at @holyfunk.official, Eindhoven (May 23), the 10-minute version at Zingende Beelden @cultuur19, Utrecht (May 31), and the full performance at @theaterzuidplein, Rotterdam (June 13).

Can’t make it on one of these days? No stress! We are touring for the rest of the year. Check the website ninadumoulin.com/bushido for the schedule and buy your tickets 📆✨

𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐃Ō 🥷✊🏻

Existential courage is the courage to be fully who you are. Visible without guarantees or protection, while the world watches and judges. In full glory and at the front. It is a powerful place, but also the most vulnerable. Everyone can see it. Everyone can have an opinion about it.

To take this place requires balance between discipline, precision, inner calm, and self-control. These values of Bushidō form the dancers’ inner compass. They support the ability to take responsibility and shape the freedom and choices of their own life, even when this brings discomfort, uncertainty, or fear.

The piece BUSHIDŌ explores the tension between vulnerability and strength. What happens when you truly show yourself, without armor, and still stand?

Nieuw!

Is tijd bevrijdend of belemmerend?

Opdrachtgever: KRO-NCRV
Productiebedrijf: SimpelZodiak
Producent: Justine Huffmeijer
Regie: Roy Dames
Productieleiding: Dide Blokland
Hoofdredactie: Floor de Vreede
Redactie: Nina Dumoulin
Camera: Roy Dames, Nina Dumoulin
Montage: Jos Driesen
Cast: Stephanie Tency by @ninadumoulin
