How lucky am I to get to perform @shyama.music.theater ‘s beautiful beautiful piece under @devjanki ‘s masterful guidance amongst the trees in @theatreincolor ‘s glorious camp. How lucky am I to work with powerhouse cast @wasif.sami and @bannah_hakke and @kishan_rao with the amazing @mo_zaud on the keys and @srirangan.iyer on percussion. And of course the beyond brilliant @maya.liu327 holding us all together.

Thank you thank you thank you @anuka.sethi and @_mcorn and @emmaleekidwell and Marlon and Andy and Abigail for creating community and home for us on this retreat.

Thank you @heartbeet03 and @vivianfarahani and @asalxzari and @abbymohaddes and @nicoraimont for making me cry repeatedly with your gorgeous work and hearts.

Last weekend marked the end of our purple summer and @springawakening.nyc and I’m so proud of what we created together as a team! Every day that I get to perform is a privilege and more so when I’m doing it alongside amazing brown creatives.

Thank you to @shaniaapahuja and @jamesstryska and @viraj.shri and @michael_manasseh and @griffinspriggs for the gift of Martha and this beautiful show! Grateful for mama who bore me reprise, and yummy cheese pasta, and emotional support hugs, and yaps on the Q train, and curly girlies, and silly voices, and stretch sessions, and planks to Olivia Rodrigo, and most of all lovely lovely humans who I already miss so much. 🩷☀️💜🌼🧡✨ by @ninajayashankar

I miss you Appa. I miss dancing to Eric Clapton with you. I miss trying out new audition songs for you. I miss you shaking your head at me when I watched SpongeBob. I miss doing book reports together. I miss making paper cranes with you. I miss you taking me to The Nutcracker. I miss when you’d ask me questions just because I wanted to talk. I’ve missed you these last 12 years and I’ll miss you every year to come. by @ninajayashankar
