That’s the thing about New York, it doesn’t simply give you a place to live, it shapes you.

This city has witnessed every version of me: the joyful and the hurting, the proud and the uncertain, the one who succeeded and the one who failed. From the first little studio I called home to the woman I am today, its pace taught me independence, its honesty gave me edge, and its endless possibility made me feel freer than I have ever felt free to explore, to change, to contradict myself, and to be whoever I am in each moment without needing to explain or fix it.

In a city of millions, New York made me feel truly seen. Its people, cultures, perspectives, and contradictions challenged everything I thought I knew. Its streets pushed me beyond my conditioning, taught me to ask the real questions, and brought me closer to my own truth. Its winters taught me strength, its springs reminded me of beauty, hope, and renewal. It held me through loneliness and gave me somewhere to belong while I was still learning how to belong to myself.

Today, I remember all this city has endured and honor the lives forever woven into its story.
