Great new book by Michael G. Miller and Kevin T. Morris. I was 10 when the VRA was enacted and had been paying attention to the Civil Rights Movement all along, probably thanks to Walter Cronkite’s broadcast every night. This is very clearly written and well-organized. Not to mention timely. Go get it! Book sitting on a Cafe table next to a cup of coffee. The cover is red. The title is An American Problem. How the Country Built — and the Supreme Court Broke — the Voting Rights Act by @ninajosmith

A little pause to read beautiful big format Bitter Southerner magazine and The Art of Perspective in the library before I set up chairs for Saturday’s house concert. You’d be hard pressed to find a better small listening room and there’s still a few seats left for our first anniversary show featuring Kate McDonnell and Mike Berman. PS music stand and picking stool will be replaced by mics and mic stands, etc. All professional-like. Large format, magazine, and narrow bench, holding colored pens, and a small book.
