I wrote MY SISTER IS GOING TO KILL ME inspired by my relationship with my own sister, @morgansimon1. Perhaps the greatest moment of the book tour was this one, at the @bookshopsc launch, with Morgan and our incredible mom Sarina by my side.

A friend once remarked that my first two novels bely an unshakeable belief in the power of familial love. I am so lucky that this belief comes from direct experience. The love between me, my sister, and my mom is simple and complex, easy and hard, joyful, maddening, and comforting in equal measure. Always present. Always certain. I feel so grateful to continue to thrive and explore in a family of women who love each other, no matter what murderous shenanigans are afoot. by @ninaksimon

Sometimes, book tour can be magic. I love the serendipity of encountering a new landscape, new riches, simply because someone invited you to a place you've never been and you said yes. Thank you to @mancoscreativedistrict @mark54stevens for inviting me to keynote the Mesa Verde Literary Festival. Everything about it felt like a dream: lively panels in packed local businesses, curious readers and writers, delicious post-festival dancing to live music with poets under the stars, even an early morning sendoff yoga class (with gong!) at the local library.

After the last gong echoed, I took off for a couple days of climbing and hiking north of Durango. There is so much world out there to know and not know. Stunners I might never have scaled, waterfalls I might never have leapt. More wonder than I can witness, more possibility than pain. I'm glad nature's limits stretch far beyond my imagining. by @ninaksimon

What do you do with the residual energy that accompanies a big book launch? You climb a tree and weave a net.

Feeling grateful to have spent many hours over the past month 80ft up in a redwood tree creating the world’s most magical reading nook. I look forward to devouring many stories here (and sharing this net with high-flying friends!) by @ninaksimon
