Our Artist for July What inspired you we ask… “I would describe my work as abstract. I don’t really have a STYLE perse. I paint what I want. I like to discover new ways of doing things. Trying new mediums. If you’re not learning, you’re not bettering yourself. But, my art always has to have a little bit of messy. Like life. Nina Lune will be taking a much needed vacation through the month of August. We will be back with a solo exhibition in September. Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming events! ATTENTION ✨Nina Lune will be on a much needed break for August. The gallery will not be presenting any showings for the month of August. We need time to prepare for September and our biggest showing of the year OH MY GOTH. 🦇🕸️🫀We will be contacting all artists on the list for October in the next week. All artists participating in Oh My Goth in October will be required to meet on August 1st to secure your space. ☑️We would like to thank everyone who reached out to participate in Octobers exhibition. We are planning to do more group shows in the future so keep an eye out. Due to the interest we will be accepting submissions in the future for artists not in this area as well as local. Thank you to everyone that showed up to support this local artist! We couldn’t do this without you and it truly helps the artists been seen! ARTIST OF THE MONTH Messy Art By Tamarahalmost 50 years of being creative.Encouraged to pursue art at a young age Tamarah attended a field trip at AMoA in high school , like a lightning bolt of inspiration she hasn’t stopped since. Her biggest inspiration at the time was Louise Nevelsen. Tamarah says “Her HUGE sculpture. A giant black box, filled with smaller boxes of found objects was so beautiful. She put it together with such purpose. I wanted to be like her. I never was able to do well with 3D art. But, I do try to create with purpose”. Tamarah later attended college and majored in Art, with nearly a Minor in Psychology. Her biggest influences in college were the Abstract Expressionists – Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollack, and Robert Rauschenberg. Surrealists like Freda Kahlo, and Salvadore Dahli and her ALL TIME favorite, Georgia O’Keefe. She later discovered Willem de Kooning’s wife Elaine de Kooning. Tamarah says she lost her way for a while due to some tragic losses. But, the last 10 years she has rediscovered her creativity and confidence to begin showing her work again.Some of the pieces included in this exhibit, 4 foot black and white photographs ,mixed media, abstract. by @ninalunegallery
