I spent my 20s chasing perfection. Success. The next opportunity. Always looking ahead to what might come next.

My 30s taught me that life is rarely as simple as right or wrong, good or bad, perfect or imperfect. Everything is constantly shifting. We are constantly shifting.

Now, stepping into my 40s, I’m noticing something else.

There is a delicious beauty in the everyday. In slow mornings, long walks, shared meals, laughter, quiet moments. In all the little things we so easily take for granted because we’re busy looking ahead to the next thing.

Maybe the point was never to get everything right.

Maybe there is something beautiful about the marks life leaves behind too. The lines, scars, dents and imperfections that become a record of having actually lived.

And maybe that’s why I’m learning to savour things more.

This morning. This walk. This breath. An ordinary Monday.

Not because everything is perfect, but because this is it. This is the life that’s actually happening.

What if now is all you have?

Maybe that’s part of what practice gives us too — a place to arrive exactly as we are. To explore, challenge ourselves, learn something new and grow alongside others.

I’ve been thinking about how much of our lives is spent becoming somebody.

We build a sense of who we are from our experiences, our relationships, our work, our culture, our memories, our successes and our wounds. We form ideas about ourselves and about the world, and sometimes hold onto them so tightly that we forget they are only our perception of things.

Life so far has taught me to question what I think I know. To pay attention. To stay curious. To allow myself to be authentically me. To be wrong. To be brave and sometimes fail. To fail and then do better. To notice when an old story is no longer true, or perhaps was never quite true to begin with.
So stay open. Stay curious.

Sometimes we have to drop the armour and peel back the layers to the core of our being, and witness who we are.

And yet, here we are. Still living life as a somebody. Different stories, different bodies. One consciousness.

This season has felt like a shedding for me. Old stories, attachments and ideas about who I was — and who I thought I needed to become — are fading away.

I recently had a conversation with my father about how life just happens and passes us by. Someone I know died. My dad is getting older and is now having surgery. And it reminded me, again, that this strange and beautiful thing called life isn’t going on forever.

Life. Death. Impermanence. Change. Decay. All of it is inevitable.

So take the chances. You are alive, so live.

Tell the people you love that you love them. Be bold. Be brave. Say the thing. Make the journey. Follow the feeling. Let yourself be seen.

Maybe there is no perfect moment to become who we think we are supposed to be.

Perhaps we aren’t here to become someone.
Perhaps we are here to remember who we were all along — and then have the courage to live from that place.

Enjoy the ride. The highs, the lows. Arriving, leaving. Becoming, unbecoming.

Be real. Be unapologetically you. Be here now.
Perhaps the one who lives from love wins at life.

Live from love, not fear.

👁️Behind the Scenes….

New works for up and coming exhibitions by my artist and photographer friend.

Wet plate photography which uses magical mixtures in the dark room and processing lab including silver nitrates captured on glass which gives the photographs their characteristic glowing ephemeral quality; transparent, silvery and elusive.

Verkligen kul när Amanda Lind och Janne Grönholm besökte ADDO i måndags. Konst och kultur diskuterades med stor passion. Det var många punkter som lyftes fram; allt från vad innebär ett fritt kulturliv till politiska ideologier och dess inflytande på kulturen, sematik i relation till konst och kultur, konstnärsstöd i stället för bidrag, ateljésituationen i Malmö och hur vi skapar möjligheter för konsten nu och i framtiden. Sådana möten ger energi och inspirerar!

This Sunday October 23rd, on the last day of the exhibition to whom I direct my longing, I will be guiding a live immersive experience together with Andy Yeo. This will take place between 3–4 pm at Skånes konstförening. There are limited participant spots available, so secure your spot via the link in my bio!

Next Sunday, 23 Oktober 15:00-16:00 I will be guiding a live immersive experience together with Andy Yeo; who is a composer and improviser based in Malmö. He will be using analog synths and processed electric guitar to create ambient soundscapes. And I will be leading a guided meditation using yoga nidra, which allows you to access a state of consciousness between awake and asleep that primes your body and mind for a deep rest.

This will be the grand finale of "all that is solid melts into air" @skaneskonst "to whom I direct my longing" exhibition closing at the end of next week.
