Since I posted the “shallow” article in GP about living with HIV, I’ve received an outpouring of kind words and praise for being brave. I’m grateful for the care—truly—but I’d like to share what bravery means to me.Being open about my HIV status isn’t an act of bravery.Bravery isn’t a hashtag, a banner, or a badge you wear.No, my friends, we are not heroes for being HIV+.This diagnosis never defined me. In many ways, HIV liberated me.For me, bravery is far deeper.It’s living in a country that’s not your own—soul-ripping as it is—and still continuing to create, to cultivate an artistic path, even in a brutally individualistic society where no one knows you.Maybe that is brave.It’s leaving my home country with no plan It’s following a faint glimmer of hope, even when I don’t fully trust it.It’s being able to say, I don’t identify.It’s observing the indoctrination and fear operating around us—and breathing with it.It’s seeing the cracks in the “Scandic” system and its double standards.Recognizing its loneliness, its depression.Bravery is reinventing yourself and having fun with it.It’s daring to say: I work as a dancer.It’s being okay with not always putting myself “out there on stage.”Bravery is staying grounded when accused—twice—of antisemitism by your own colleagues.(Yes, it happened.)It’s swallowing the rage of unfair accusations, holding back the impulse to strike back.Bravery is telling those you love: I don’t trust you anymore.It’s watching friendships fade.Overcoming invisible physical and emotional wounds.Presenting myself as confident and outgoing, even while carrying the weight of deep social anxiety.Bravery is confronting our deepest fears—sitting with pain and discomfort when every part of you wants to flee.It’s learning to be okay with being alone.My heart has been crushed beyond recognition, eternally thankful.Thankful for first-world problems, reminding me of where I come from.Oh, dear Sweden, the things you have shown me.I have died so many times here, and still, I am happy.But this was, and remains, my choice.And still, I am thankful.Now I know what really scares me.And it's not Hiv by @ninocobre

Den blev känd för en **olyckslegend** på 1980-talet, där vissa trodde att ägare av tavlan drabbades av bränder eller otur.
