It was a @highvalleyofficial love story. Brett got down on one knee and asked Cassie to be his forever — right there on stage, in front of thousands, under a spotlight of pure magic. This wasn’t just a proposal; it was a moment, the kind that takes your breath away, makes your heart race, and reminds you that love is the best kind of adventure.

From the roar of the crowd to the tears, laughter, and that iconic carnival backdrop, it was an unforgettable experience and hands down one of the most special moments I’ve had the honor of capturing. Brett and Cassie — you are the definition of a main character love story and I’m beyond thrilled to have been part of this chapter.

6,700 kilometers. That’s the distance between Saskatoon and Sweden - between the place where they grew their love and the place where they promised forever.

Their story hasn’t been simple. It’s been a collection of airports, time zones, video calls, and long stretches of missing each other. It’s been learning to love through the screen, holding onto moments until they could be together again. They’ve walked through heartbreak and loss - the kind that changes you - and still, they’ve chosen love. Chosen each other. Every single time.

And today, that choice led them here.
To the soft light of the Swedish countryside.
To a ceremony surrounded by natural beauty and the people who’ve carried them through every season.
To a love that feels both fragile and unshakably strong.

There was laughter that echoed through the hills, tears that held years of memories, and this unspoken calm - like the whole world paused just to watch them. Because this day wasn’t just about vows. It was about arrival. About love coming full circle after all the miles and all the moments that could have broken them but didn’t.

A little extra grateful this Thanksgiving.

This year has given me SO much to be thankful for, but I’d be lying if I said it’s been all sunshine and rainbows.

Behind the pretty photos, exciting announcements, and milestones have been a whole lot of late nights, lessons learned, and moments of questioning myself. Imposter syndrome has been LOUD this year. From growing Ninth Avenue to taking a leap of faith and launching The Guest Cam, I’ve questioned my creativity, my abilities, and whether I’m even cut out for some of the things I’ve dreamed of doing.

But through all of that, there has been so much GOOD.

To my clients who continue to trust me with some of the most important moments of their lives. To my family and friends who love me through the highs and lows. And to every single person who supports me, whether that’s loudly, quietly, behind the scenes, or from afar. THANK YOU.

I’m learning that you can be incredibly grateful for the life you’re building while still acknowledging how hard some parts of it have been.

I don’t have it all figured out (not even close), but I do know that so much of what I have today is something I once only dreamed about.

And on the days when I struggle to believe in myself, I’m so thankful for the people who continue to believe in me.

Feeling a little emotional, a little exhausted, and a whole lot grateful this Thanksgiving.

Mr & Mrs Lacoursière - FINALLY!!

I cannot even put into words the beauty and amazingness of this day! Their love, the view, everything was perfection

Muriel & Ethan wanted love without all the fuss. Kelowna felt more like them, so they packed up and headed west to make it official overlooking the beautiful waters of Kelowna. I love that. Making your wedding feel like you sounds simple, but actually giving yourselves permission to do it your own way? That deserves some credit.
After that many years together, there’s already a whole life behind the wedding day. Years of knowing each other, growing together, and sharing all the ordinary days that don’t come with a photographer or a reason to dress up. Then suddenly you’re here, in your wedding clothes, looking at that same person and getting to call them your husband or wife. How sweet is that?

And yes, I could talk about the scenery. Or her dress. Or the green suit against all those soft blues. Because LOOK at them!

But it’s her little smile when he pulls her close that gets me. The hand on her cheek. Being dressed up for one of the biggest days of their lives and still being the same two people who’ve been together for over a decade. Right down to sharing an ice cream cone.

So much love and joy in this day. They knew what they wanted it to feel like, and they gave themselves exactly that. A little further from home, a very good reason to celebrate, and another memory to add to more than ten years of them.

Muriel & Ethan, Kelowna looked good on you. So does married life. Thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Introducing… Mr & Mrs Desmarais

Name a hotter couple… I’ll wait! But in all seriousness this day was a literal dream!

The sun went down, the cocktails came out, and Matt and Alycia got married exactly the way they wanted to.

No wedding party. No formal reception schedule. No traditions included just for the sake of tradition. They kept the part that mattered - the promise, the people and an entire evening spent celebrating together.

There’s something magnetic about these two. Their love doesn’t need a spotlight; it becomes one. Watching them move through the night, completely wrapped up in each other and surrounded by so much love, was something I won’t forget.

What an honour to have a front-row seat to it all

Keaton & Ben are MARRIED!!!

And what a freaking day it was. The sweetest moments, the best people, a whole lot of pink, and one hell of a party to finish it all off.

These two were surrounded by SO much love from beginning to end, and getting to capture all the pretty, emotional, hilarious and slightly chaotic moments in between was the absolute best.

So so happy I got to be there for this one

POV: you matched during a global pandemic, spend MONTHS falling for each other through texts and video calls before you can even go on a first date… and a few years later you’re running around Vancouver taking engagement photos before your wedding (and I get to be the lucky third wheel!!)

Madolyn + Trevor!!!

I flew out to Vancouver for the day to hang out with these two and create the engagement session they had been dreaming of - something that felt less like “engagement photos” and more like stills pulled straight from a movie.

And I meannnnn… COME ON.

Now I just have to impatiently wait for their spring wedding.

Vancouver for 24 hours? Always worth it for this.

Mr & Mrs Regier

Courtney & Evan, you really got me with this one.
I’ve started this caption approximately 47 times because every version sounded too much like a wedding caption, and this one deserves something else.

I was hired to fly to the Okanagan, photograph a wedding, make beautiful things and tell the story of Courtney and Evan. Easy enough.

What I wasn’t expecting was to be cared for so deeply by the two people who were supposed to be the ones everyone was taking care of. These two went so unbelievably far out of their way to make sure I felt included, appreciated, comfortable and loved. Not because they had to. Not because it was part of some wedding-day checklist. That is simply who they are.

And maybe that tells you more about Courtney and Evan than anything I could write about their wedding ever could.

Yes, we ran through a vineyard. Yes, her veil was basically MADE for the Okanagan wind. Yes, the light showed off. Yes, everyone absolutely lost their minds on the dance floor.

But when I think about this wedding, those aren’t actually the first things I think about. I think about them.

How kind they were to me. How much they trusted me. How quickly I felt like I was photographing people I’d known for years instead of clients. How lucky I felt driving away from a job that somehow didn’t feel very much like a job at all.

So this post is less “look at this gorgeous Okanagan wedding” and more: look at these two humans so insanely in love that I was ridiculously lucky to meet.

Courtney and Evan, I adore you, i love you moee than you could realize! Thank you for everything.

The coast called… but somehow, Regina answered

Kelly and Braydee’s engagement session felt like a little seaside escape tucked right into the heart of the prairies and Mother Nature clearly wanted a starring role. We had sunshine, moody overcast skies, extreme winds, a little rain, and a gorgeous rainbow to finish it all off. Whatever could have happened, did… well, except snow. Saskatchewan showed some restraint for once

Between chasing the changing light, embracing the windblown hair, and laughing through every surprise the sky sent our way, these two never missed a beat. Kelly and Braydee brought such an easy, playful kind of love to the evening - the kind that makes even the wildest weather feel like part of the plan.

A little chaotic, completely romantic, and somehow more magical with every weather change. Honestly, I wouldn’t have wanted this session any other way.

Mr & Mrs Weiman

I don’t think I could have asked for a prettier August day for these two.

A tgorgeous church. The prettiest homegrown colourful florals. So many family traditions. A whole lot of happy tears and hugs. And obviouslyyyyy we had to run off into the wheat fields for photos afterwards.

There was just something about this day.

Maybe it was watching everyone pile out of the church to hug them after the ceremony. Maybe it was all the little traditions I got to witness and photograph. Maybe it was Jensen running around in that DRESS in the middle of a field. Or maybe it was the fact that these two just seemed so damn happy to be married.

Probably all of it.
