“Who are you, even!”, asked his Abbu (father). He replied, “I don’t need someone else to tell me who I am.” The story of Gully Boy pulls a heart string more so if you are an artist, no matter what part of the world you live in. Like Muraad, I have always believed in changing my reality to make sense with my dreams! Ahem…!! (My Indian a** reminding me of my green card situation. 🙈🤦🏻‍♂️ #iykyk 🤭)

Anyway, I was well rehearsed and off-book before recording, yet took 12 takes to get what I liked. Resetting hair, props n self after every take, making sure the tshirt I change into gets over my head without any hurdles, getting in the before-moment, et al - The THINGS we do! For creating (or recreating) something!! 🙃 But my friend, the one who read the lines with me, here, said it right, “We do it cos it’s fun!” 🙌🏻🤗 Fun, it was, indeed! While I will tag him in bit after I play a little guessing game with my Seattle friends, I do wanna say, he was such a sport and so encouraging through this. He gave honest feedback, heard my notes and things I wanted to do differently in every take and was plain enthusiastic to keep reading until I felt satisfied. 🥂to him and all unsung heroes behind the scenes. They say, even full time actors act the most in auditions (ask me if you don’t get this). So there is that and, for me to keep honing my skill, I must do more of these. 👊🏻 I did learn a lot this last year and from many different teachers. Tagging all of them here.

In my case, I WAS good at Maths. Haha. 🙂. Despite that, changing the end was inevitable. And it was this powerful scene from Tamasha where Ved confronts his father, that pushed me to take the actor, storyteller, in me seriously.

And so I began to change the ending of my story. Who knows how it will end but I am making sure the journey is as fun as possible. There is a lot more to learn, many places to visit, so many stories to tell, so much more love and grief to share. So I say, “Lifey, bring it on!”🥂

You know I’m coming out of my acting content slumber for this. 😴➡️🎬

Life’s been a whirlwind—moving to LA for good, settling into a new place, meeting new people, networking, dancing... and not-so-casually working full-time as a Principal Software Engineer. 😅

With all that, I’m still doing everything I can to keep my passion for acting alive. It’s not easy, and yeah, I wish I could release content more often—but hey, no complaints.

This class was super fun. @krutikasolankii and @aadilkhann poured their hearts and soul into it. They have been traveling non stop, with jet lag and barely any sleep, the energy and compassion with which they teach every class making sure every single dancer gets their attention is simply heartwarming and a sight to experience. ❤️‍🔥

The Hindu Laundry had its world premiere at LA Shorts International 2026 and we couldn’t have asked for a better screening. We also got to watch 6 other incredible shorts made in LA this year and meet the fantastic filmmakers behind them.
