Today I welcomed the hot sun and tested some expired paper I’d prepped for cyanotypes for a trip up north at the end of summer 2023 - as expected, I ended up with a couple of ghostly images (and one absent ghost) but they were so lovely for a few hot and wonderful minutes before processing.

The journey that has been this cardigan! I fell in love with this pattern (and the colour of this wool) a couple of years ago but always felt too intimidated to try it. It was super easy to follow in the end. I started it in November and finished it on New Year’s Eve, then wore it for months with loose end tucked into the wrong side before I sewed on these lovely buttons last week. The bulky yarn knitted up nice and fast and will keep keeping me warm during spring chills 🕶️

I briefly considered giving up knitting altogether when it came to picking up stitches for the neckline, but other than that I really enjoyed making this! I bought the yarn from the knitting for olive store in copenhagen (dreamy) and cast on the project in october before deciding I wanted something slightly oversized, so I left it in a tote bag and knitted a whole cardigan and even learned a whole new craft in the meantime. I then re-started in the new year and finished it in a month. The grey is so studious, london, pigeon, I like it a lot.
