“So, you just pick furniture and make things look pretty?”

Meanwhile, I’m running an entire company’s worth of job titles in one body.

Interior designers, I know you get it. 😂

What job title did I forget? Because I’m sure there are at least 10 more.

Denisa Popovici, Founder & Interior Designer at @nisi.maison , has given her insights into the industry.

The studio creates refined, personal interiors for private homes and selected commercial spaces, balancing timeless elegance with comfort and practicality. Every project begins with listening to how clients live and what they love, then shaping spaces through thoughtful layouts, bespoke joinery, considered lighting and a curated palette of materials, finishes and furniture. Working closely with trusted craftspeople and European suppliers, Nisi Maison guides each project from concept through to procurement, installation and styling, delivering crafted spaces that feel calm, characterful and made to last.

Building @nisi.maison has been a journey of passion, precision, and storytelling through design. Standing here, I’m reminded why I started this journey, to create spaces that feel like art, but live like home.

Every marble vein tells a story, every material is chosen with intention, because luxury is not just about what you see, but how a space makes you feel.

Most rooms don’t need more furniture.
They need a reset.

Light, balance, proportion, editing. Small adjustments that change how the whole space feels.

Save this checklist for the next time your room feels “off”.

If you want help refining your home, send me a message. I design spaces that feel calm, layered, and lived in.

Building a studio is one thing. Building it with someone who shares your standards, your eye and your work ethic is something else entirely.

Andrea is not just an exceptional interior designer, he is the person I chose to found Anden Interiors with. From first sketches to final installations, we challenge each other, refine each other’s ideas and never settle for “good enough”.

Our collaboration works because it’s honest. We debate layouts, question proportions, obsess over materials, rethink lighting plans. The result is always stronger than what either of us would create alone.

Anden was born from shared ambition and mutual respect. Two perspectives, one vision: thoughtful, layered interiors that feel considered from every angle.

This reel is a small glimpse into that partnership. taken in London, England by @nisi.maison

A bedroom should feel like the calmest room in the house. The place where the noise of the day stops.

Here the palette stays quiet, deep navy velvet, warm wood panelling, soft neutrals and marble underfoot. Everything is layered to feel comfortable but still considered. And the chandelier becomes the piece that gives the room its moment.

Designing a bedroom isn’t about filling the space. It’s about getting the balance right so the room feels effortless when you walk in.

If you’re renovating or starting a new home and want your space to feel truly put together, I’d love to help shape it with you.

Every studio says they’re different. Few will tell you how.

We design at the meeting point of two things most people treat as opposites, function and elegance. A room that looks beautiful but doesn’t work is a failure. The craft is in refusing to choose.

And our signature? It’s deliberately unfinished. It evolves with every project, every client, every space that asks a new question. A style that stops changing is a style that’s stopped listening.
