NIT Raipur’s ‘Nrityam’ The Dance Club organized the grand Garba Eve, ‘Rangtaari’, on October 16, 2026. The event was graced by Prof. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, as the Chief Guest, along with Mrs. Jyoti Ramana Rao, Dr. Manoj Kumar Chopkar, Dean (Student Welfare), and Dr. Suvendu Rup, Professor-in-Charge, Cultural Committee, in the presence of faculty members, officials, staff, their families, and students. The celebration commenced with the worship of Maa Durga, followed by vibrant Garba performances by the Maatrshakti Group and Nrityam Club.

The evening brought the campus alive with festive spirit, traditional attire, and energetic dance performances. Students and faculty members enthusiastically joined the Garba celebrations to the tunes of popular songs, including “Vadhavo Re”, “Chaniya Choli”, and “Gori Radha Nu Kalo Kaan”, making Rangtaari a memorable celebration of culture, tradition, and togetherness. by @nit_raipur

NIT Raipur’s Sahyog Club and Dispensary Department successfully concluded the five-day workshop “Occupational Health, Hygiene and Safety Practices: Safaimitra Suraksha Evam Samman.” The programme featured expert sessions by Dr. Vijay Sen, Dr. Anand Joshi, Dr. Ashish Upadhyay and Dr. Narendra Chakradhar on orthopaedic health and physiotherapy; Dr. Milind Wasnik on oral health; Dr. Shweta Chhabra on nutrition; Prof. (Dr.) Anjan Kumar Giri on occupational safety; and Dr. Durgesh Sharma, Dr. Leena Sahu and Ms. Meenal Bachhawat on physical and mental well-being. The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof. Manoj Chopkar, Dean (Students’ Welfare), and Dr. Tirath Prasad Sahu, Nodal Officer, SHS-2026, Dr. Ashish Dash, Dr. Madhukrishna Priyadarsini, and Dr. Soumya Agrawal.

The workshop included health screenings, expert consultations, awareness sessions, cleanliness drive and safety kit distribution, reaffirming NIT Raipur’s commitment to the health, safety and dignity of sanitation workers.

NIT Raipur’s Sahyog Club and Dispensary Deapartmnet inaugurated the five-day workshop, “Occupational Health, Hygiene and Safety Practices: SafaiMitra Suraksha Evam Samman,” on October 12, 2026, under the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS 2026) campaign. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Samir Bajpai, Head, CDC, NIT Raipur, along with Dr. Dharm Pal, Chairman, Housekeeping Committee; Dr. Vivek Kumar Gaba, Faculty-in-Charge, Training & Placement Cell; Dr. Tirath Prasad Sahu, Nodal Officer, Swachhata Hi Seva 2026, Faculty Coordinators, Safai Mitras and Students. The programme also featured the SafaiMitra Samman ceremony, recognizing campus sanitation workers for their dedicated service through the distribution of medical healthcare kits.

The initiative aims to promote preventive healthcare, occupational safety, workplace ergonomics, and dignity for sanitation workers through expert sessions, medical consultations, and comprehensive health check-up camps. As part of its outreach efforts, Sahyog Club members also visited Government Higher Secondary School, Hirapur, Raipur, to promote health awareness and sanitation among students.

NIT Raipur, in association with Electronics & ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, inaugurated the five-day Faculty Development Programme on “Emerging Technologies for Space and Interplanetary Systems (ETSIS-2026)” on 12 October 2026.The inaugural session was graced by Dr. R. N. Sahu, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi as Chief Guest along with Prof. Shubhashish Sanyal, Mentor, COSINE; Prof. Shubrata Gupta, Dean (Academics), NIT Raipur; Prof. Pradeep Kumar Das, IIT Guwahati, Faculty Convenor & coordinatiors and participants.
